Craig Ferguson
Loved his Hawaii Five-O bit. I’m doing his recaps a day after because he technically airs the next day. Haha. Got to have respect for his rendition of I’m a Little Teapot. Mindy Kaling’s workout ideas are hilarious. Pretend you’re married, and your husband was murdered and you’re chasing after the murderer? Brilliant workout technique.
Glee 2x01
"Stop the violence."
I liked that they tried to recreate the discovery of Finn with Sam, making it seem like he would be a mentor when actually some rivalry was going to start. I guess Finn and Rachel work as a couple and are sweet. I’ve just never been much of a Finn fan though I like CM. I did like him trying to be nice but stupid and I understand Artie’s ambition too. He has ambition, Kurt seemed like he would never get on the team last season and he did, plus McKinley has the worst team ever so I could see them being like why would it even matter if he was on the football team. I would have loved if Finn became a Cheerio to see how Sue would try to mold and use him like Brit. Haha. How does Rachel know which crack houses are active? Oh crazy Rachel. Still love her because I love all my crazy tv girls as I just explained with "Gossip Girl."
I liked Sue and Schue getting along but the pizza gag? He was bringing her down. Though I think her antics went too far but this is the same woman who knocked an old woman down the stairs and put her in a possibly permanent coma to manipulate Schue. I like that she entered the bathroom just to tell Rachel and Sunshine to shut up.
I liked Artie/Tina but I like Tina/Mike so I’m guess I’m just easy. I do like the increase of screen time for Mike and the others though Matt has "transferred." I like all the new people though I do agree with the people that say the name Chord Overstreet sounds more like a boy band than a person’s name. I love that the name of Charice’s character is Sunshine Corazon. Quinn is back and getting into it with Santana and Brit wants to stop the violence. Love it. Interesting meta moment in the beginning.
It was a decent premiere and we’re getting caught up with everybody. Favorite performance was "What I Did For Love." I look forward to next week.
Life Unexpected 2x02
"Mozart makes you smart. Rage Against the Machine keeps you awake."
The above quote may serve as a study tip/life tip for you. Emma Caulfield playing Emma! Haha. Nice. I missed my Anya. Math is all what just happened when high school teacher Erica did not want to move in after finding Lux there? Even without knowledge of their night together, does he not see something wrong about inviting another teacher to live one bedroom door away from where their student sometimes lives? The way Lux stole the midterm is just one of the ways it is so messed up.
It was nice that Cate actually voiced what was bothering her behind just getting fired which was upsetting enough. When she first said that Ryan should have quit, my knee jerk reaction was bad but the message she was getting in her interviews was that if Ryan was looking for a job with her they would get her something better than she could get on her own. He did fight for her and he’s the only adult who is providing money for Lux right now. I did like him showing up for career day. Why did someone not think of that sooner?
I was pissed at Lux yelling through the halls about her night with Eric. Are you really trying to destroy him because you’re pissed? I mean, there are some mixed signals and rudeness between them but Eric didn’t want to live with her and continue a relationship with her and when he met her she was working in a bar, wearing an engagement ring, talking about a guy she had been dating for years and wearing some university attire so he thought she was legal which was a reasonable assumption. I was on his side until the hand holding and the it was real.
I like Baze a lot more this season. He’s actually listening to those around him and being helpful to Lux. He is trying to step up.
Lux looked pretty with her hair up. This show was so bad last season that I could hardly stand watching it and pretty much gave up on it. Now, the characters can have whole scenes without being annoying. I might not write this show off yet.
Raising Hope 1x01
The power of baby cuteness? The power of a likable cast? The power of singing and guitar playing from two actors I really like? I’m not going to lie. I might keep watching.
Running Wilde 1x01
"Hello, I am doctor."
I watched this for Will Arnett. It was idiotically funny but for some reason I’m easy for Will Arnett and romantic sitcoms so I will watch at least until "Parks and Recreation" comes back in the spring. It makes fun of having values and being noble while also being rich and idiotic. Equal opportunity attacking?
Parenthood 2x02
Lorelai Gilmore not wanting coffee? To all who said she was the same character. So, I think I’ll talk about one issue from the show each week because there are so many characters that I can’t possibly handle them all. So, this week it will be Julia and the play date. I understand why Julia accepted the play date. The kid was totally adorable and polite and a mini-Julia and she thought she was getting her daughter socializing and what not. I could also understand Julia missing the kid drama because she’s a lawyer and while it’s admirable that she takes her daughter to school some mornings, it makes sense why she might not have time to catch up on the interpersonal drama of these five year olds though she really should have caught up if this was an over the summer change. Haha. Still, she was willing to do what they asked and break the play date despite thinking the little girl seemed like a nice girl. However, just because Sydney and Joel made it seem like common knowledge why Sydney did not want to hang out with this girl, I think Julia should have had a little more tact when breaking the play date. I’m not saying lie or do something where they might have been asked to reschedule and I don’t actually know the answer here. I don’t have a kid. But she was trying to nicely say to this totally polite woman with the polite daughter that this other girl is involved in drama and that’s why Sydney does not want to hang out with her and she’s telling her this hours before the play date. Of course the mom got mad later and sent an angry email and was probably rallying a vengeful mom posse but Joel agreed with me on the issue. It was humorous the way she resolved it by just blaming everyone else. I loved the group laughing at Sarah calling the wii Pacman. Also, checking out an employee, especially in front of her brother is lame Billy Baldwin.
