After two days of classes things don't seem to bad. Math, History and Science are all the same usual BS as back at home, but they're taught by other Kinain, if that's the correct word, I think it is. Mr. Larkatos seems rather cool, as does his class. He's surprisingly understanding about having missed the first half of the course, wish I could say the same for the stuffy pointy eared elf who teaches Basic Cantrips. Apparently we can do magic, major bonus. Guess this fae thing isn't so bad. Unfortunately the guy who's teaching us how to do it has a stick up his ass. There's a whole section in the text about cursing, definitely need to read that.
Lady Surya is also nice, though the whole different forms of address thing is still damn confusing. Who is Sir and Your Excellency, instead of Mr? Apparently titles and calling people the right thing is very important, and if you don't, they get their panties all in a twist. Reminds me of the those back at the club at home who would call themselves Baroness or Count whatever. Fucking Posers. Anyway, there's a whole section in the text for the class on Satyrs. Will have to read it this weekend, which apparently I will have to spend catching up on work. I was hoping to be able to take the van into town and check out the local scene, if there is one. Guess that'll have to wait.
The most suppressing thing about classes was gym. I fucking hated gym class at home. It was always full of dumb jocks and the teacher was always one of them, usually a guy who's defining moment was the big game in high school. Here, things seem to be different. Sir Gunthar, while not a genius, I wouldn't call a dumb jock. He seems to actually care about all the students, not just the ones on the football team. I don't think this place even has one. He's very much the noble warrior type, other then being 8 feet tall and blue, he's also rather handsome. I can't believe I just wrote that. Anyway, for once, I don't dread the locker room. No dumb bullies slamming people into lockers or tripping them in the shower. Today Sir Gunthar had us do sprints and calisthenics as a warm up for the rest of the semester. Oddly enough, unlike at home, I was near the front of the class when we were doing sprints, and I don't think it's cause the other students are slow. Fucking strange. I think it may have to be part of being a Satyr, since the others also tended to be in the lead of the class. Odd though how it didn't give me an advantage at home. Sir Gunthar said that we're going to learn staff fighting and some other martial arts this semester, definitely better then playing baseball or volleyball.
Oh well, time to get back to homework...
