Well, it's all speed ahead now with the production. The Etcetera Theatre is booked for 8-20 November. Just doing all the "admin" now that I guess producers do.

yes, very good. are you sure you don't want to come and be the stage manager? you have this presence you know.

Oh what the hell, sign me up. I'm not sure I'm the kind of over-organiser/achiever that the position seems to warrant, but at least it's a stone's throw away from the Dev!

i could be interested in doing the lighting & sound for you, although i'm a little on the rusty side. i lit dozens of shows at university, and was LD on a a show selected for the NSDF and a couple of shows at edinburgh a very long time ago.

Oh my god! That would be amazing! I would definitely like to investigate that possibility. I could also try and budget for your expenses (dependant on receiving an arts grant). I know you haven't said yes but thank you for the possibility/interest.

i can't imagine what expenses i'll incur walking from chalk farm to the oxford arms =)

the only question is whether i can commit the time; we'll have to work what it'll take, and then i'll work out whether i can do it. what might help with that is finding someone prepared to operate the board for some of the shows, so i don't have to sit through all of them pushing the buttons.

at least i know that the etcetera don't have any fancy modern lights that i don't understand!

ok, that's cool. With the other lighting people I have spoken to so far, they'd need a dress rehearsal to figure out what they'd want to do with the lighting and then there are 12 performances from 7-9pm from 8-20 November. (tues to sun).

It would be unpaid. TBH with the make-up it would just be nice to have an extra pair of hands around to help the actors during the two weeks of performances. If she is interested in doing it to add to her CV, then please do ask her. If she is a proper professional, then I can understand not wanting to do it. Cheers for thinking of us anyway!

by the way, I have seen your email. Thanks very much. Don't worry, I don't want to change anything major to the monologue. I just want to tweak it slightly so that he sits on a bench. May not even have to make changes to the speech. x

Oh and do you have a theatrical CV? I am going to need to submit it to the Arts Council for the grant. A x

What does a stage manager do though?

And don't say "manages the stage"! ;)

a real stage manager would make sure everything is running smoothly on the night. what I can see you doing is just hanging around looking superior. ; P
