a well-balanced diet of sandwiches and pens

Aside: Feeding the Dead basically evaporates off of my skin, but using naeelah's hair-scenting technique solves the problem (yay!).

Attempting a post at 8 a.m. Friday at the mechanic's was about as successful as you can tell: kept zoning out into a middle distance stare while trying to decide if anyone would notice if I just burrowed down into my coat for a clandestine nap. So much for that!

This is not a for-real linkspam post. Maybe next time.

selenak has some great Bond meta. Going to try to rewatch CS and QoS before Friday night out with the ladies.

Via bookshop: [1] LJ has pretty much moved shop to Russia, [2] frustrating, pointless LJ changes.

Yesterday's rough plan of attack being altered (naturally), ended up going to the Other Local UBS instead. Blast!, put back a nice annotated copy of Jane Eyre because I thought I already had two, but turns out I was thinking of Pride and Prejudice. Walked out with: finally! Joan Didion's Slouching Toward Bethlehem (have been pining for this for a while), Anne Somerset's Elizabeth I, Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, and a replacement copy of Little House in the Big Woods after passing the other along to Kid C. Rifled the children's seasonal rack on the extremely remote possibility that childhood Christmas treasury I don't remember the title/author of might turn up, but no dice.

Adding all of it to the bedside shelf's stacks of unfinished. At this point I should probably just start all of them over again.
Oh! I did finish The Phantom Tollbooth: it was excellent and satisfying in all respects.

Paltry Elizabeth I bio collection now up to: 4 (Weir's Life of Elizabeth I, Dunn's Elizabeth and Mary, and Jenkins's Elizabeth the Great).

I keep forgetting we have tomorrow off! So many projects to catch up on. I should probably just clean.
