Because life must go on
Honestly, I didn't feel like posting pictures from such a great time after what's going on in the world and the LJ world but then I overheard "Life must go on" by Queen and I decided to show a small bright spot.
Without further ado, plenty of pictures from our Carnival at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
First of all, I have to mention that we got VIP passes for the gala of the election of the Drag Queen of the Carnival. That is the hugest event in the whole Carnival right after the election of the Queen of the Carnival. It's incredible how a place in Spain that we consider as laid-back, relaxed and full of rather informal people (I was partnered to a Canarian guy for 6 years, so I know) spends so much effort in creating a huge well executed event.

These are our incredible, wonderful, sweet, handsome friends and hosts, Adae (left) and Mariano (right) working for the galas events. They were absolutely exhausted every day.
Anyway, it was time to see the magnificient gala and we had VIP passes
We had quite a good view of the stage, as we were on the second row
The conductors of the gala. The woman on the right is Loes León, who's been in a few Almodóvar films. She was awful
We had some celebrities such as this woman on stage, Kate Ryan. Known for some gay hit.
Anyway, here are all the candidates when the votes were being issued. They had three juries in addition of the televoting, so they had four charts. At this point they were really nervous on stage

And the winner was...
The set was quite spectacular. Because of this being a huge gala, they tend to use the "cyber" side of drag queens. Check it from the Canarian Television signal
Crowned by the mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Don Jerónimo Saavedra, who is a well-respected gay politician. He wore a huge feather mask which I wasn't able to snap.
Anwyay, big party after the prize was given. Yes, one of the drag queens had something related to gay teletubbies
