It's tax time!

May 04, 2009 08:55

I just got by sms the code to download the draft information to do all my taxes. I still don't have an electronic ID reader to fill the papers online, nor an digital certificate, but with the draft information and my signature I can do everything on a printed paper and go to my bank.

I've checked my draft already. I'm just a little dismayed to find ( Read more... )

Oh, I didn't realize that you're autonomous.

You know, it's quite a weird concept for me because that status is quite rare in NZ. Well, I mean, far more restricted. That is, you're only registered as 'self-employed' if you literally own your own business. Which, in many cases, also includes people who do contract work, of course, but in a lot of cases in NZ, even contract work involves a sort of temporary employment contract, whihc means the company you're working for in that moment deals with the taxes etc, not you.

I'm really annoyed that there have been jobs I could have at least attempted to get, if I was autonomous but, as they wouldn't provide me with enough income to leave my current job, can't do it. Grrr.

By the way, what's going on with the house at the moment? Has any progress been made on the 'gently-convincing-the-guy-he'd-be-happier-elsewhere' front?

Also by the way, we have to arrange a weekend or something one time, when you can come over for lunch or dinner - now that the weather's improving, we can use the terrace as well, which is nice. If it's a day that coincides with a Dominique trip, even better - then everyone can get to meet everyone else!
(although, knowing my luck, you'll all start chatting away in French and I'll be sitting there going "Write it donw, you bastards - French is easier for me to read than to listen to!!!" Be a good refresher for F, though. ;D)

Oops... I'm not self-employed, actually, just a little bit (classes). The AEAT keeps record of all my fiscal movements via my NIF number (your NIE as well). After the conservatives' reforms in the early 2000s, only the purchase of a house justifies some sort of fiscal deduction.

Listen: you can work autonomous and employed at the same time. Basically it depends on the percentage. Then classes add up as an extra activity. Yes, you might pay a little more taxes, but never more than the amount corresponding to your total income.

As per a visit, don't count with my partner, as he doesn't like to socialize with people, less with people he can't communicate. When it comes to me, whenever you want!

Nah, it's cool, I'm very variable on the socializing front myself. :)
Florenci actually speaks French, though he's a little rusty - it'd be me that'd be the problem!
But, really, I know how it feels to feel 'obligated' to socialize, so don't worry about that. :)

Still, we must get you over for a visit - maybe next weekend? (when I no longer have the plague the swine flu this horrible cold. :D)

Whenever you want. I can go and visit for coffee, as I could visit my friend David as well.
BTW, I lost your phone number, silly me!

*gasp*
What?! You lost my number???!!!

You know, I was going to invite you over for lunch on Saturday but now I think I might be too busy spending the day BEING OFFENDED.

Heh, no, seriously, wanna come over for lunch on Saturday? We can eat out on the terrace!
(providing the stupid wind of stupidness goes away before then...)

I'll send my number to your LJ messages, okay?
