Xmas & New Year update
I'll use cut-tags to spare all of you the girthy length of this post.
I drove to MN from VA last Friday with a friend (whose family also lives in MN, but he resides in NC). The drive was great, if not boring during some parts. Brought a whole new meaning to blizzard and entertainment in IN and IA. Took about 24h in all. Did I mention I love my car? I have a newfound respect for it.
Family is doing well. My sis decided to spend Xmas with her bf, so being home was more boring than usual. I did manage to go swimming a few times, but the weather was not too permitting to run outside. It snowed almost every day at first and was hella cold for a while. I love snow. Cold weather is so much better than warm shit any day. Took about a day, but I remembered how to properly drive in snow. Though I let my parents do most of the driving.
Spent some time with HS friends. Finally ate at Perkins. Saw I am Legend on Xmas. Am very happy with my parents' reactions to the gifts I gave them. Spent many hours teaching them about ipods and itunes. Hopefully they remember. Went down to meet some friends in the Cities (ate at Dinkytown). Realised that traffic near where the 35W bridge collapsed really sucks. Ugh. Too bad 94 has to go right through the area. Too bad it is a major important traffic area in general.
I am sad I did not get a chance to go to the Smitten Kitten to get a gift for myself. My birthday was the most uneventful one I've ever had. In fact, for most of it I forgot it was my birthday. I left for VA on my bday with my travel buddy, so that may contribute to it. The drive back to VA was faster and less eventful. DC metro area (up to 75+mi dist) super sucks. I wish I had a tank to drive over all the idiots out there. Wow, I am 24, ha.
New Years was spent with some friends at new friend's place. Apparently a 2-star general's daughter who works at the Pentagon to boot. The woman is my new hero. Wow. Her life story thus far is quite impressive. I have decided to sign up for chair dancing lessons. I cannot wait. Seriously. Oh, and am looking for someone to go to a Burlesque show with me on 14 Feb.
