Vacation is almost here - yey!!! Flux and my pookie monster spinning is almost here - yey!! Shag Frenzy is almost here - Yey!! Julie is almost here - SUPER YEY!!
It has been a busy busy past 2 days.
Picked Meggan up Monday and went to Tisane, where we gorged ourselves on yummy bits. I deviated from just my normal steak frites, and we ordered gruyere wontons with edamame hummus, crusted brie, and fondue. And what goes better with all that food than - MARTINIS!! The peachtree martini was good, but the almond joy martini was GRATE!! The bartender was super nice, and he put some shag frenzy postcards at the register. He came back and said people were really having the flyers. I think he though Meggan and I were lesbian lovers, and Derek was our gay male friend, because he definitely was flirting with Derek. It was hilarious, because Derek didn’t even know the guy was flirting with him so he was just being nice back, but it looked like Derek was responding to his flirting. For all of you who are a bit bothered when it comes to Derek’s flirting, it is really just a natural thing for him.
After Tisane it was off to the mall. Got some cute (cheap) skirts at H&M, and I was a size smaller than I thought I was - Wahoo!! So since January I have gone from a size 18/20 to a 14. Its not super awesome “do a commercial campaign for subway” feat, but it has been slow and painless (also little feelings of depravation). Just need to keep going, must keep the balance!
Yesterday was Tor’s going away luncheon at Bertuccis. I am going to miss him bunches, but I couldn’t turn down a 25% increase in pay plus living in a cheaper city. He will be at Shag Frenzy taking pictures, and the next day he leaves for Arizona - so rock n’ roll!! He is Meggan’s wedding photographer, so we will see him in October!
Since lunch was so long, I decided to take a half day vacation, and I am doing the same today. Met the lovely Marie at Starbucks, where my tea was a bit too sweet (I am an unsweetened kinda gal when it comes to tea, tough to be in the south!) After that it was off to Taco Hell which was lovely. Then went home and practiced DJing. I am honing in on a set, but it is super ukindie britpop!
