Oh what a night!
Despite my sickness, I had a GRATE time last night!! Everything seems to have a snowball effect lately, and last night was no different. Met TONS of new, super nice people (who were also totally having our Shag Frenzy idea - which makes me smile even more)
Night started off rather strange as Derek and I managed to miss our exit (he was zoned off and going toward work - grrr) So we get to Flux a bit late because we got lost in New Haven (we are no Lewis & Clarke), and realize that Derek forgot the CD he made from his vinyl, so no MCL for me:( Crowd was rather slow at first, and someone actually came in asking for something less poppy than Joy Division. So derek decided to unleash his metal fury - it was GRATE! WHile many were put off by it (I know I would be), there was a crowd of people who REALLY got off on the whole thing - besdies, it was super early I had a chance to remeet phaid. I must say that is the first time I talked about aircrafts in a nightclub!!
All this time we were under the impression that this was all different from what we knew it Florida, but with Aeryn and Phils advice derek just started doing what he knew - and it worked. the floor was packed!!
Derek played all kinds of GRATE stuff, and in the last half of his set people were actually cheering everytime he started a new song. It was marathon dancing - even to erasure cover of Voulez Vous!!
The floor stayed pretty packed the rest of the night, and Aeryn even started a pit at the end which had us in fits of laughter!!
Tons of people came flooding into the booth saying how this is the first time they had danced their in years, how derek was one the best guests they have had.
The reception was just very warm and friendly, and I am so thankful for everyone and everything, alright Pollyanna out!
