here a bunch of snippets for amarin rose. I hope you like them.

The First Sign of Spring

Tim lazed on the wide branch a good ten feet off the ground. The dappled sunlight fell on his face and the breeze was pleasantly warm. The only thing that could make this more comfortable was if Dick would get off his back, he had very pointy elbows.

Dick grinned to himself and pretended to be looking through his binoculars but really just enjoying the feel on the younger boy under his chest. He was sprawled half next to him and half on him leaning up to peer through the leaves.

Underneath the tree was a wide spread tartan blanket, a huge picnic hamper, wine, glasses (of which Tim wasn't allowed any) a thermos of tea and plenty of zesti. Alfred was slouched, half asleep, on a fold-out chair in the shade of the great tree's branches. Bruce and Barbara lounged on another corner of the blanket chatting quietly.

The park was fairly quiet even on this wonderful day because it was rather difficult to get to (It had required the use of one the Wayne helicopters.) and the family was enjoying this peaceful time on Alfred's request. (Being Alfred any requests of this kind were always followed with much care and minimum fuss)

It had been his idea for them to take this day, the first day of spring, and enjoy it as they rarely did. It was also his idea that the boys try to see the first robin of spring hence their position in the tree with two pairs of binoculars because who ever saw a robin first today would get to choose what the family would have for dinner tonight.

Tim winced as Dick shifted digging his elbow in next to his spine. He felt the other man tense and swore softly, he really wanted roast chicken and if Dick won they'd be eating steak again.

"I won't believe you if I don't see it too!"

Dick grinned down at him. "It's real easy to see Tim! I can't believe you missed it!"

Tim looked everywhere.

"REAL close Tim."

He couldn't see the bird anywhere. Where on earth...wait.

"I don't count!" He squealed.

No Way Jose!

Booster pleaded. He pouted. He whined. He reasoned. He even tried crying that Ted didn't like him.

Beetle just shook his head.

"No way Jose."

Booster smirked. "But Ted...I'm not Jose. So does that mean yes?"

Beetle glared at the man and was about to retort but was beaten to it.

"Jose wouldn't trade a blow job for a chance to pilot the bug would he?"

Beetle blinked. Open and closed his mouth a couple of times unsure of what to say. He looked at the other man. Booster cocked one hip, putting himself on display, knowing he was one hot, shiny superhero. He waggled his eyebrows and leered and his slightly pudgy friend.

"But. What? I. Um." The man stumbled over his words then suddenly grinned evilly. Booster was bluffing. Call him on it.

"Sure Boost. But only if you're good enough." He leaned back in the pilot chair and smirked at the other man.

Booster looked at him seriously. And knelt down, his hand sliding up Ted legs and settled high up on his thighs. "I mean it Ted. Not as a joke either...it would be cool if you'd let me handle your bug but this...I mean it."

Ted heart pounded hard enough that he was worried about his condition but looking down into those startling blue eyes only soothed his fears and he nodded slowly. "I....Booster? Go easy on me. I...I don't want to lose anyone else."

Booster nodded slowly and leaned up to kiss him, soft as a butterfly whispering against his lips. He smiled understanding the fear. “I won’t leave you. Ever.”

At Least Once

Guy Gardner floated gently in the light breeze; warily he stretched out one hand. Claws raked at his palm and he snatched it back quickly hissing in irritation.

He shifted closer, grimacing at the branches that snatched at his jacket and hair.

This time when he reached out he ignored the dig of the claws and scooped the tiny body out of the tree, tugging to unhitch all four legs.

He held the kitten at arms length eyeing of the little ginger ball of hissing fur.

When he settled down to the ground and turned to hand the little beastie over to the waiting young girl she shook her head at him and squealed. "That's not how you hold a cat Mr. Hero sir. You have to be gentle like a baby." She gestured with her hands.

Guy sighed and followed instructions, biting back his anger. He tucked the cat against his chest in the curl of his arms. It stilled and then relaxed into his hold.

"Better?" He sneered at the child. "Go on take him now. Go home."

She shook her head slowly eyes wide.

"It's not my cat sir. Mummy won't let me have one. It don't belong to anyone." Slightly scared by the big green hero's glare and the beginning rumble of a growl she continued quickly. "It was stuck up there and no-one else would help it and I love cats but I can't have one and I was worried cause it's so skinny and I tried to give it some of my muesli bars but it wouldn't eat them and then those nasty boys tried to hurt it this morning before school and it climbed the tree and I came home tonight and it's still there and it's so sad...and then I saw you flying up there....and I thought heroes are good people and they help everyone even kitties and no-one else was helping so I called and you answered...and I thought...maybe...you would know...what to do?" She trailed off breathing hard and stared up at Guy with huge blue eyes and lips trembling.

He sighed and absently patted the animal. It started to purr and licked his glove. He looked down thoughtfully; it was, after all, nearly Kyle's Birthday.

He smiled at the girl. "Its okay kiddo, I'll take care of it."
