OMG! I'm actually going to try and write a proper fic with chapters and everything! Here goes...btw its lantern/arrow...kinda
This is chapter one
Varieties of Green
Chapter One
When Guy Gardner came back to Oa with Connor Hawke tucked under his arm no one knew what to do. But he just flat out ignored everyone and sped off down a corridor towards the medibay. The young Green Arrow looked very confused so at least it wasn't just the rest of the lanterns who had no idea what was going on.
Hal floated after them curiously, it was very unusual to bring anyone who was not a ring bearer to Oa and Earth was a long way away. Why had Guy brought along the kid?
He followed after the man until he reached the main room of the medical complex. Through the door he could just make out Kyle. He was being restrained by several of the burlier Lanterns.
Guy shouted at them, ordering them out of the room and hurled the young arrow in as he slammed the door behind the quickly exiting men. Guy paused long enough to set a shield around the room and then set his back to the wall, preparing for guard duty.
Hal stared for a moment, unsure of what to do.
“Guy?” The red head turned his head to look at his fellow lantern. “What’s going on?”
The Honour Guard didn’t answer; in fact he looked rather stubborn and slightly guilty.
Searching for an answer, Hal turned towards one of the medics who had just been kicked out of the room. He let his ring flare slightly and raised one eyebrow at the pink skinned woman. “Well?”
Shrugging her shoulders the medically trained lantern explained how on a routine mission the Torchbearer and the Honour Guard had encountered a strange dust floating through the atmosphere on a distant planet. Their shields had been unable to keep all of the dust out and seeing how badly Kyle had reacted Guy had brought him straight back to Oa.
Hal turned slightly to look at Guy but could see no traces of any dust or dirt of any kind.
“We did, of course, wash them off before allowing any contact with other people. We kept samples of the dust but won’t be able to test them thoroughly until Kyle is over the effects as they are in there.” She pointed at the room behind them. “Guy Gardner does not appear to be feeling the effects as strongly, we think his reaction must have been quicker to shield himself as well as he could.”
“So...what was he doing with Connor Hawke then?”
She looked faintly embarrassed, a darker hue crossing her pink skin. “It, um, appears to have a strong hormonal affect on those it touches.” Hal looked confused. “Well it seems to have a rather strong affect on the subject’s libido.”
Hal blinked twice. “So why was Connor Hawke brought in again?”
She muttered something about being unable to find a cure so quickly and Kyle needing to take care of things the old fashioned way. Then she fled.
Kilowog helpfully spoke up. “We asked about the kid’s current partner, says he doesn’t have one. Guy said he knew who Kyle would want. So he went and fetched that little human kid. No problem, right?”
Hal spun back to glare at Guy. “What about Connor, Guy? Does he know what’s going on?”
Guy shrugged; kid’ll figure it out soon enough.
Hal looked quite scandalized. He sighed. “At least with his martial arts the boy is unlikely to be forced; after all you wouldn’t have left Kyle with a charged ring would you?”
Guy squirmed nervously, he’d forgot about that, kid had only recharged a short while ago but he was fairly sure the baby arrow wouldn’t mind if the looks he’d seen the blonde give Kyle were what he thought they were,
“You did! You threw an unsuspecting kid in with a fully charged lantern dosed up on lust dust! The kid was raised by monks Guy! He’s got no idea what’s going to happen to him!”
He struck out at the force field but it was too strong to break through. Eyes blazing with rage he spun and took off as quick as he could towards Earth. Ollie would need to know about this.
