I think this would be the proper place to use the phrase, "Better late than never." :)
Part 12:
Author's notes: I wanted to put all five groups at their entrances in this chapter, but timing and length got in my way. Ah well, I'm sure it will work out in the end.
I also remembered two other people I needed to add as well, that will probably be done in the next chapter. >_>
I think I like writing cameos of characters more than developing characters. XD; That's rather sad, I know. But I find it more fun if you don't have the pressure of having to stick with a character for the whole story and remembering to keep them "in character" all the time.
While I kept thinking to myself throughout the past few weeks that booby traps are so stereotypical, I ran out of ideas on how our heroes were going to get into the base (beside walking in through the front door, because they're awesome like that). Therefore, you get to see my lame attempts at making it difficult for them with not very well thought out traps. XP
At any rate, this chapter is moving things right along, slowly, but still, we are getting somewhere (sort of).
Comments are welcome, as always. Though personally, if you're still reading it, at least, I'm happy. XDD
Moon snorted at Corrie, "I bet you think you're rather clever, huh? Well, no matter." he shrugged and strolled back towards the curtained part of the room, "No one can get in my secret base anyways."
"Typical troll..." Corrie muttered.
Goldy took this opportunity to speak up, "So, Moon, what's with the curtain?" she nodded slightly to the curtain covered wall.
Moon turned around to face the three tied up women, with a slightly look of fear on his face, but he quickly recovered, "That's nothing, just decoration." he waved his hand as he continued walking away.
"I doubt it's just decoration." Rushia whispered.
"Me too, but we have no way of finding out what it is until help arrives," Corrie whispered back, "So we'll just have to wait."
"Hey, look!" Goldy loudly whispered to Corrie and Rushia. They both looked where Goldy was looking and saw on the far side of the room, near Oro and Luneth, a circle on the ground was glowing. Like a flash of light, a man appeared in the circle. Corrie recognized him.
"Jon Clement; just who we don't need right now." Corrie said sharply under her breath.
Moon noticed the arrival of Jon by teleport as well. With a hopeful look on his face, Moon asked "So, did you get him?" Moon walked towards Jon expectantly.
Jon looked up at Moon with a sour expression, "If I did, do you think I'd be here?"
Moon's hopeful expression left him and he narrowed his eyes. After staring at Jon for a few seconds, he sighed and shrugged, "It's hard to find good help these days." he started walking off.
"Oh yeah!?" Jon replied back, angrily. "At least I'm actually doing something to help our mission instead of just sitting her, playing master to us all, when the real master is-"
"Shut up!!!" Moon had wheeled around and had his hand at Jon's throat. Moon slowly moved his eyes to look at the three tied up women. They were grinning at him.

Each group traveled separately from Ark's house to where Moon's secret base was located by using their GPS's. Despite the fact that UC had to replace his broken sword, his group arrived first at their assigned entrance to the secret base. He, Lucky, and Hana found themselves staring into a long dark hallway that was presumably one of the entrances to the base. Only, it had no door. Lucky turned on the flashlight she was carrying and shined it down the hallway. What they saw was not an encouraging sight. There were spikes coming out from the floor, and those spikes were also rigged to mines. Therefore, if any of them even so much as touch one of the spikes, the whole hallway, as well as the three of them, would be blown to pieces.
"Well," UC said, after looking down the hallway for a few seconds, "we won't get anywhere just standing around." he walked up the edge of the spikes, "Keep shining your flashlight down the hall, please, Lucky." And with that, he leaped into the spikes, doing several flips, barely touching the ground around the spikes and within a few seconds, he firmly landed on the other side of the hall.
Lucky and Hana gasped in surprise. Lucky stored her flashlight back in her pocket and pull out a rubber band to tie back her hair.
"Shine the flashlight for me, Hana." she said, with a determined look on her face.
"Uh, wait, you don't mean you're going to do that as well?" Hana retorted.
"We don't have much of a choice. Corrie, Rushia, and Goldy are waiting for us." Lucky leapt gracefully into the spikes and like a ballerina, she flipped and danced her way to the other side without touching any spikes.
Lucky shined her flashlight back at Hana, "It's okay, you can stay there. We can go on ahead." she called back.
Hana stomped up to the edge of the spikes, "Oh no, you don't! I'm perfectly capable of doing just as well as you or UC, even if I did just recently become a Class 2 member." Hana used a headband to pull her hair back, "Besides, I studied Goldy's alliance member guide, I can do anything!" she raised her arms over her head and leapt. With a stroke of talent and probably luck, she made it over to the other side safely. She was so relieved, that she started falling backwards towards the spikes, but UC and Lucky caught her by the arms and pulled her back up.
The three of them all pulled out their flashlights and ventured further into the darkness.

Group 3, composed of Fish, Phil, and Mech, reached their entrance shortly after Group 1. When they arrived at the entrance, they were blocked by a very tall and wide door.
"Well, this looks kind of overdone." Phil sighed as he started walking towards the door. Fish grabbed him by the sleeve and pulled him back, "Wait." Fish was staring at the door, "These entrances are suppose to have traps, I don't think we'd be able to just go through the door."
"Fish has got a good point," Mech added, looking at the door, "The door could be pressure sensitive and a switch for a trap, we have to be careful."
"What do you propose we do then?" Phil asked.
"We need to test it out, but without putting any of us in danger." Fish stroked his beard and looked at Phil and Mech, "Do any of you happen to have an article of fruit?"
"Fruit?" Phil and Mech replied at the same time.
"Yes, fruit. Do you have some?" Fish had a very serious look on his face.
"Well, I have this apple," Phil pulled it out of his bag, "It's a little old, but-"
"That's fine." Fish snatched the apple from Phil and threw it swiftly at the door. When the apple hit the door, there was a very quick and sharp sliding noise, then silence.
All three men searched intently for where the apple went. It was lying on the ground, sliced cleanly in two halves.
"Okay, that's a little scary." Phil stared on sadly at the dismembered apple.
Fish's gaze was elsewhere; looking up, "Ah ha! There." he pointed to a large guillotine blade rising upwards above the door.
"A guillotine?" Mech looked in awe at the blade slowly rising upwards.
"And a fast one at that," Phil added, "We couldn't even see it cut the apple."
"Problem is," Fish kept staring at the blade, "how do we get past this door?"
"That won't be much of a problem, I think." Mech spoke up rather proudly, displaying the weapon he had gotten from Ark's weapon closet. It was a multi-ammunition rifle. Mech was one of the first people to get to the closet, so he got the only one of these weapons. While the multi-ammunition rifle was too complicated to be used in combat, it's ammunition choices made it rather useful in most tricky situations.
Mech set the rifle to "blow torch" and approached the door carefully, still keeping his distance and starting cutting through the door.
"Ah, the answer to everything," Fish sighed, "When in doubt, blow torch it. Though, question for you, Mech."
"Yes?" Mech answered, still cutting through the door.
"How are we going to get through once you cut the door? The guillotine is still there." Fish pointed upwards.
"One problem at a time, please." Mech replied.
"Don't worry, I think we can handle it." Phil added, pulling out his own weapon, which was a troll catcher (which fires very sticky stuff, in case you all forgot), aiming it at the blade of the guillotine, and firing several times to stick the blade to the wall.

Near the southeast side of an unknown desert:
There was a small caravan camped near an oasis. In one of the many tents was a man who had just hung up his cell phone and was now typing on his laptop. All of his caravan traveling companions wondered and marveled at how he got internet service wherever he was, but he would never tell them his secret. They often teased that he must be blessed by heaven.
The man remembered this and smiled. Maybe he was blessed.
"Ah, this is interesting." he mused to himself as he looked at his computer screen. He wore simple clothes; a t-shirt and very light, but durable pants. He also wore a dogtag on a necklace around his neck. The only word inprinted on the tag was "ich1990".
The man continued smiling as he wrote a few things down in his notebook, while glancing up his laptop screen.
"UC will be interested to hear this." He dialed his cell phone again as the hot desert winds blew outside his tent.
