I will finally be able to make it.  Dashi, that is.  Ordered kombu, which isn't so hard to get...but also got bonito which is harder (for me) to find.  Then I can make proper miso soup without relying on horrible dashi powder. Today, finally ordered myself a Sheik amiibo.  There's a sort of weird, meaningless satisfaction in getting an amiibo.  I should eventually have my Wolf Link amiibo from a while back, too, but it's coming all the way from Japan.  (I don't remember where Sheik was coming from.)  Wolf Link opens an entire new dungeon in the Twilight Princess remaster ( Read more... )

I learned a thing today, and that is that there exists such a thing as a 'cordless jump rope'.  They're digital and they're basically just handles with four inches of cord with ping pong balls on the ends of the strings that when you 'turn' the handles, rotate, imitating the feel of a rope turning.  It counts your turns, too, I believe ( Read more... )
