And then there was an earthquake.

I'm sure it was way worse for people in the DC Metro area - not too much destruction up here in Philly, but my building sure did sway, and I'm on the top floor. Yikes.

 One set of neighbors is having a huge screaming fight. The other set has evidently decided that midnight is the perfect time to hang pictures and is hammering nails into the wall. WTF, neighbors. I will be so glad to move.

So I was at the liquor store this evening, buying wine, and I'm browsing the shelves looking for a decent Cabernet, and all of a sudden I see a woman say to one of the employees: "Where's your Mogen Davids ( Read more... )

 So this evening before choir rehearsal, I stopped into a local coffee shop - the Coffee Bar, so-called because they also serve alcohol. To which I say: You are a hotel coffee shop. There are two other restaurants within this hotel that serve alcohol, and an Irish pub across the street. Stop trying so hard and make better coffee.

So, uh. My five-year-old niece Abigail is having surgery on Monday, so being the kind and considerate aunt I am, I'm planning to send her flowers and balloons and stuffed animals. So I google "phila toy store", because my usual go-to toy store is Mape's, in Ardmore, and I won't be able to get out there in time.
