I believe that we were made to love God.  But, much more importantly, we were made to be loved by God.  Since God is infinitely more vast than us human-beings, our creation and existence shouldn't be about us, but because God is so eager to look beyond Himself (however much One who is omnipresent can), it does end up being about us.

I had communion at a Kentucky Conference UMC young adults meeting, this weekend.  Before communion, the speaker held up two clay pots as he described what ancient Jewish covenants were like.  He said that sometimes clay pots were smashed, and so he threw the pots across the floor.  It startled us a bit.  The idea behind the demonstration was, "If I ( Read more... )
