The dictionary defines hypocrisy as pretending to have beliefs, opinions, values or standards that one actually does not have. Many's the time that I've heard my uncle referred to as a hypocrite both before and after his death. But looking at how the dictionary defines the word, I have to say that it's just not true. True, there were those who had issues with the way that Unc did business sometimes. I've worked with some of them. But Uncle J.P. never did anything illegal, like some of his colleagues did.
If there ever were anyone that I would label a hypocrite, or at least be close to one, it would be Piggy. And I realize I'm risking my very life by saying this. She always tries to come across as a feminine, demure, genteel and humble person. Not that anybody who works at the theater buys it. We all know what a tough, self-centered and sometimes violent person that Piggy can be. Of course it's for those same reasons, not to mention fear for our lives, that no one ever says anything.
