It occurs to me

...that saying this will cause you to speculate on where I've been reading. But it also occurs to me

that the urge to talk about the CAPTCHA we're given when posting an anonymous comment is very like the urge to talk about the dream we had last night.

They're both unique and private experiences, but so laden with meaning that bearing them alone feels isolating. Spreading it around spreads out our delight. And we're seeking assurance that the reality we're constructing makes sense, that it is a shared reality.

Also. How much interest we imagine other people have in hearing it -- however much that might be -- is an overestimation.
