It was my first time to KL!!! Actually was supposed to go Malacca the weekend before with ex colleague and gf but was cancelled cos KC fell sick. To make up for it, we decide to go KL the weekend that past instead cos I realise there is nothing much in Malacca. We went there alone in the end.
At first thought it is going to be low budget but we end up spending quite a hefty sum cos of the hotel. Acutally to correct, KC spent a hefty sum :P
We went there by coach on Friday night, very rush. We cheong to Kranji to catch the bus. It took us so long cos the queue was so super duper long. We are quite noob cos we crossed the bridge the take the bus despite the fact that we saw alot of pple queuing at the bus stop in the opp direction. We then realised it was cos the bus will go one big round from that bus stop and stop at the opp bus stop. Hence, by the time it reaches our bus stop, it will be fully packed. Real crazy. Pity those pple who travel to and fro every weekend. Luckily I stay in Singapore. Phew..
We took the normal bus 170 to across to causeway to Larkin Terminal and then buy the tix to KL. It was quite chaotic at Larkin. People are shouting at you and stopping you to buy the tix from them. KC said that it is safer to buy from bigger companies at the counters instead of these shouting pple to ensure there is definitely a seat. Luckily it was not a holiday so we managed to get tix without much of a trouble. Caught the 830pm bus and reached KL at around 1230am. It was kinda of late and we had not booked the hotel for the night. So garang eh. We only booked the hotel for the 2nd night. I was quite worried might have to end up in those hotel 81 kinda of hotels. But the moment we got down the bus, the taxi uncle came to bug us and as it is too dangerous to walk around at night looking for a hotel, we followed this chinese taxi uncle to a nearby hotel. It was not super nice but good enuff for the night. It was acutally a few metres down the road but the uncle drove us there to earn some quick bucks. Bo bianz..too late le..better be safe then sorry.
Woke up early the next day and walk around the area. Had breakfast at some roadside stall. Tim sum was so so but it was cheap and we tried this Wine Chicken Mee Sua. Yucks, thought it was quite harmless but realise the uncle put alot of wine! I feel drunk after that and my hands were quite swollen due to the alcohol. And it cost us 6RM for that bowl of meesua. I thought it was going to be cheap :(
Almost finished :P
The lotus wrapped glutinous rice was very good. Best of all, only around 2RM :P
WE went to Sungei Wang (some shopping centre) and Berjaya Times Square (another shopping centre). Nothing much there though.
Had lunch at this Nandos restaurant! It is everywhere in KL. I think the chicken is good and the chilli is max hot! Damn shioks!!!
KC and I posing around before the foodie come :P
Yummylicious Drumstick!! The corn and the fries sucks though.
Our hotel for the 2nd night. Looks abit old outside but it is 4 star! Cost us a bomb! 300RM! The stupidest part was the next we thought it was still early but it was already 1130am. We missed the international buffest breakfast!! I was looking forward to that to make my 300 RM worth!! :(
Our nicely done room.
KC posing around..hehe...
We can see the Menera from our hotel window! Twin tower is behind though..
Took another Nando's restaurant cos I forgot the take it when we went there to eat.
Charcoal fried HOR FUN. Actually it is CHAR KWAY TIAO but apparently Malaysian and Singapore got different meaning for Char Kway Tiao, Hor Fun and Hokkien Mee. Quite confusing but dun care. Eat! Super max sinful cos got lots of fried pig oil and pig's liver but it taste REALLY REALLY good. You can find it at CHI CHEONG GAI aka Chinatown aka Jalan Petaling.
The Longan drink there is also famous!
We are going up the Menara to see KL view!
At the Menara, enjoying the view.
Heading towards Petronas Tower...
Ain't we amazing, we took the photo by putting the camera on the floor...I'm trying very hard to prevent my double chin showing!!!!
That's about all. Went back on Sunday evening. We had trouble buying bus tix and end up having to buy from those pple shouting kind. Argh..really bu ke kao..they din allow us to get up the bus that was supposedly ours and we had to go up another one. Apparently some family paid 40RM per person for the tix on the spot so they sold it to them. It ended up free seating somemore. Luckily another bus came within few mins else really damn scary. Imagine no bus home! Eeks..the small bus company really bu ke kao.
After this trip, I realise how fortunate I am to be staying in Singapore. I think I should stop kao-bei the govt and kao bei my life so much....
