Reports Gruntled Center, in response to More money, better sex. Depends on how you look at it, as Edith Bogue notes.

Looked at our big credit card bill. It is grim. Not an immediate disaster: We can easily meet the minimum payment and then some. What bothers me is the trend. The balance is growing. What I want to do is stay ahead of the new charges and interest, so as to make some forward progress each month. I don't see how to do this now.

Over the weekend I sold four books via Amazon.com, as part of an effort I have been working on for a couple years now. So this morning I packaged them and took them to the downtown Minneapolis Post Office for mailing. I also mailed back a manuscript that a friend had written, and the 20 hard copies of colgaffneyis monthly newsletter.

Today is payday. So I looked at my bank balance and then at upcoming bills and other obligations. As often happens, I was reminded of an old Wizard of Id strip, in which Bung (the Court Jester) is juggling and talking with another character. The conversation went something like this:
