New Year

Jan 14, 2009 17:03

I think I missed it.  I know it has come and gone because I have to write "09" on checks and stuff now.  Other than that, I would have never known.

There is always a huge amount of expectation that rides on the turning of the year.  Why is that?  Why do we expect to fix all our faults from last year on this ONE day?  It never works for me.  Does it work for anyone?

Bob is mad at me.  I quit talking all my medicines in late '08.  I just got tired of popping the pills.  I am going to loose enough of this weight that I don't need them anymore. That is my goal.  It is not a resolution, just a fact.  I would rather DIET than take pills.  I know it is shocking.   I found a FREE website that helps you track what you are eating, tells you what you should be eating and what kind of excercise to do.  Can you believe it is free?  Soooo.... I am using it.  Today I have eaten 1 cup of coffee, 2 bottles of water, 1 serving of chicken and noodle soup, 4 saltines, 1 small individual bag of Doritoes and 2 slices of leftover pizza.  I am close to my calorie intake goal, way LOW on my protien.  This is going to be hard. Wish me luck!

I need help and accountability with this weightloss thing.  Someplace to talk about it, because I do not like to talk about in REAL life.  People might judge me.  So I think I will just do it here.  I will have Bob take a horrible before picture and we will work on some photos along the way.  Here's to being proactive.

In other news, Baxter is back at school and seems to have an improved attitude.  I was worried about him after Thanksgiving.  The three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed pretty hard on him.  The schedules were different due to testing and he hates that!  But - he seems to be back on track and I am very excited for him.  STUDY HARD BAXTER!  I want to see your name on the academic achievement list!

We started attending a new church in Anna.  It is very small and we like everyone there.  I am hopeful that it will fit all the demands I have of a church home - so far so good!   Bob and Karla went to Mexico on a Mission Trip over the holiday break with the new church.   It was for Karla, but Bob survived.  I was so proud of him.  I'll see if I can get him to post some of the details or her!

Life is good.  Talk to you all soon!
