my most difficult situation today was: going over to chris's, seeing the beer, and seeing the pot.
the thoughts i had about the situation were: i needed to get the fuck out of there.
at this point i told myself this was happening b/c: i was started to doubt my disease and God was testing me.
this led me to feel: alone, scared, nervous
which gave me the urge to: smoke a ciggarette and leave
the very next thing i did was: ^just that
if i could change my self talk from today my new self talk would be: i AM an addict and will always be an addict. i cannot take 1 drink b/c to drink is to die.
other bits of negative self talk i told myself today was: one drink/blunt wont hurt
when we retire at night we constructively review our day. were we resentful, dishonest, selfish, or afraid? i was resentful b/c all my parents do is bitch at me for dumb shit. and they arent following through w/ anything that has to do w/ my recovery. i was selfish when i didnt do the dishes.
do we owe an apology? no
were we kind and loving toward all? no i was kind of a bitch to mkcay
what could we have done better? just not said anything to him
were we thinking of ourselves most of the time? no
or were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life? yes
but we must becareful not to drift into worry, remorse, or morbid reflection for that would dimminish our usefulness to others. After making our review we ask God's forgiveness and inquire what corrective measures should be taken.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage to change the things i can and the wisdom to know the difference.
