OMG. *sigh* *happy sigh* *smile*
My biochem midterm today went really well. I was terrified of it, but I actually studied (a ton) and it actually went well! (These things are not always so nicely correlated.)
I also had a biology midterm on Mon that went alright and I have a chemistry quiz tomorrow that I'll have to study for but should be fine, and then a lab report which is mostly just time-consuming.

But damn, I didn't sleep last night so now I'm in that weird state, where I don't want to go to sleep because I really I just want to veg out for the rest of the afternoon after doing that to my brain last night. But also, I really can't let myself go to sleep because I do have that quiz and lab due tomorrow and if I go to sleep I know I won't get up again. And I'm going to be coasting on this high from the last midterm going well so that should help keep me happy and motivated.

Unfortunately our lab work has been super stalled as of late. The discouragement of repeated failing parts combined with everyone being busy with midterms means not a lot has been accomplished the last week or two. But I figure we've got almost exactly 2 weeks till our results have to be finalised so I think I'll just start working like crazy till the deadline hits.

I got to see La Traviata last weekend - my first opera - and it was amazing! I was not aware that the movie Moulin Rouge drew from it so heavily (or at all), and being as that's my favourite movie, it was not hard to love the show. And the ending- ! Someone had told me they always cry, but I wasn't sure, seeing as I had read up on the story and knew what was going to happen. But it was so beautiful and so well done: the lead soprano was stellar, the father was so expressive, and the orchestra and the lighting and the costumes, it was all just superb.

It was set in the 1950's and the opening dress for Violetta struck me especially. It was a gorgeous turquoise dress with the style where there's a pencil skirt and an extra long layer in the back. Similar to this one from the movie Sabrina. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or what it might be called? Because the internet is failing me. Although I did discover an amazing site for huge quality classic movie pictures: This is one of the Audrey Hepburn pages where I am spending far too much time saving far too many pictures. But they're all so gorgeous!

My goodness, foxie has been so perky lately! It's been really bad when I'm trying to get to sleep, he just keeps digging away at the door, walls, etc. He's like the bloody energizer bunny!
