Finally saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.  Strange and wonderful.  I squeed over how close it is to the comics (which I am still reading).  Stellar cast directed by Edgar Wright, which kind of made it a Canadian ninja!Spaced.

Completely made up for the $4 I spent on a box of Skittles.

But I finally watched Heathers.

80s Christian Slater pwns my inner-outcast, who killed my inner-conformist to make room for my inner-philosopher.

She needed the closet space.

If they keep it up, the British shall have a monopoly on mash-ups.  Hot Fuzz was beautiful in a gut wrenching, funny way.  Not better than Shaun of the Dead, but still very very good. 
There's a thriller comedy called Severance that I will be lining up for as well.  Why do comedy and horror go together so well?

Well damn.

I just saw Smokin' Aces.  I know the year just got started, but that is the best I've seen thus far. 
It was like the American cousin of Snatch or Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.  I'm noticing the trend of all-star ensemble casts and Aces really pulled it off.  Alicia Keyes and Common performed well as switch-overs and Jeremy Piven ( Read more... )

Huzzah.  I sang.  Only had to do half of what I memorized.  And I didn't die from mortification.  I call that a win.

So, yeah, glad that's over.  Of course, there is the matter of an exam in that same class that I'm studying for now.  I'll be happy when this week is over.

At the moment, I'm torn between watching horror movies or British ones.  Vampires and werewolves or Victorians and the Underground?  So I decided to compromise and watch Shaun of the Dead and later, Ultraviolet.  Monsters and accents!  I'm a genius, I know.

Wow.  What a great birthday.

First, I went home and got settled.  The next day, I went to Towson.  The going sucked, due to transportation issues, but the rest was fried gold.  I stayed with M and Mad in their oh-so-swanky apartment, which puts all of my school's accommodations to shame.  Not that that's very hard...
