Kim Flint has wanted to get married since birth. I believe she came out of the womb with a strong desire to be a bride. I think that, as she trailed her mommy at the grocery store at the wee age of 6 she was mentally visualizing when she would be pushing the cart and choosing items for her own household.
Now, after 28 years of waiting, she will be getting hitched on October 3rd. Congratulations are certainly in order.
However, fucking panic and hair pulling are also in order. How do you plan a wedding in less than 3 months? And, more importantly (as this affects me and is therefore more important, duh) how do I plan a bridal shower and a bachelorette party in 2 months?
It came as no surprise that she named me the Maid of Honor, I've known I would be for the past 10 years. I just never really realized how much work comes along with the job. I have a bridal shower for upwards of about 40-50 ladies to plan, and it needs to be laid out sooner rather than later.
I need a venue. A restaurant would be lovely as it would be catered and would come with tables and chairs and lovely decor - but its much more expensive. I'm not going to ask people to pay to come to a bridal shower, so the only alternative is that I pay for it. *insert guffaws here*
If a restaurant is out of the question than I need a home. Anyone have a home in the general Pasadena area with a backyard big enough?
I want to be a kick ass Maid of Honor and will be putting Kim and her needs first (ie. changing my hair appointment this Saturday to accomodate for time to talk about decorations), but the money worries me...
Any ideas anyone?
