Middle Schoolers (Kradam Drabble)

Apr 27, 2010 16:28

"Kris, calm down," Adam Allen-Lambert said to his worrying husband, "she's just going into middle school. Besides, this is just the day we meet the teacher!"

"Adam! Do you know what could happen to her! People aren't gonna' be so cool with her when they find out about her 'parents'. Aren't you worried?"

Adam kissed Kris on the cheek and hugged him.

"She'll be just fine. Trust me."

"I hope so."

Just then, Jessie, Adam and Kris's 11 year old daughter, pranced into their living room wearing a special Queen T-shirt Adam had gotten her at one of his meetings with the group themselves, black skinny jeans, and personalized leather boots Adam had gotten her for her birthday the previous year. She smiled and spun around, trying to show off her looks.

"So guys, what do you think?"

Adam turned and smirked at Kris, for Kris had said before she wouldn't ever like or wear the outfit.

"Gorgeous. Babe, what do you think?"

Kris gulped, looking over his young daughter with scarce eyes.

"Jessie, you look.....nice."

She raised her eyebrow at him, smirking at Kris just like Adam always would.

"Really, Daddy?"

"Adam, curse you for brainwashing your daughter to act just like you."

Both Jessie and Adam smiled, giving each other a thumbs up.

"Daddy, I know you are just worried about me entering middle school, but it's okay, I'll be fine. Just another three years of school if you ask me."

Kris looked down at his feet and then placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"Sweetie," he mumbled, "people there probably won't like you because of us there."

Jessie gasped and looked at her fathers, shaking her head in shock.

"But..but...you guys are so nice and awesome! How could they not like you? And why would they not like me because of it?"

Adam looked at Kris and sighed, seeing his husband had tears welling up in his eyes.

"Jess.....middle schoolers are way different than elementary schoolers. Kids you know from before will treat you differently. They realize that we are gay and then they'll think it's weird and then..poof, they hate you because of it. I...I always knew at some point in your life you'd have to go through this...so baby, if they be mean to you, I want you to be strong and don't listen to them. They say it's weird....but you know how we really are. I'd do anything for you, and so would Kris. We love you. Just know that. Stand up for yourself. Be the strong little girl I know you are."

"Your father had to go through a lot of that stuff when he was young," Kris interjected. "He told me when we were just roommates in Idol. Jessie, this might be hard.....painful, maybe."

Jessie shook her head. "Daddy couldn't of.........did you?"

As Adam looked at his daughter, he remembered how he was when he was young...thinking nothing would happen and paying the consequence for it. It sent a shiver down his spine.

"Jessie, it did. Please.....just be strong, okay baby?"

Jessie nodded and ran to Adam, hugging him tight. Kris went over to them and joined them in their hug.

-----------------------------------------------------

"Guys...seriously......we need to go," Kris mumbled into Jessie and Adam's ears. They hadn't moved for over 10 minutes.

"Kris, c'mon, why did you have to ruin it?" Adam smiled and got up, Jessie doing the same.

"Yeah Dad, why?"

Rolling his eyes, Kris grabbed his car keys and headed outside. "Ya'll are idiots."

Adam and Jessie walked out and got in the car.

"Ya'll?" Adam sarcastically said to Kris. "And you say we are idiots."

"I AM from Arkansas, you know. Sorry that I was cursed with this accent."

"Thank goodness Jess doesn't have it."

"I think it would be cool, Daddy."

"Shush baby, Daddy's trying to win this argument.'

Kris smiled. "Ha. She likes it."

"Who said I didn't?"

"But you-"

"Guys, can we just head to school already? Ya''ll are acting like preschoolers."

Adam and Kris both exchanged a look at each other and then slowly left the parking lot in silence.

Their daughter had just burned them. Nice.

------------------------------------------------------

Rolling up to Jessie's middle school, Kris felt his stomach grow uneasy. It was a big school. All he could think of was Jessie getting picked on by kids. It sickened him.

"Dad, you're gonna' miss the entrance."

Kris turned into the entrance and then giggled. "Sorry sweetie, just got a little dazed."

Adam laughed. "He's having flashbacks of being pulled up the flag pole by his underwear probably."

Jessie began to giggle, making Kris blush. "Adam, shut up please. I was not."

"Sweetie, just saying, you seem like the guy that people would do that to."

Jessie began laughing hard. Kris hit Adam's arm and then pulled into the parking lot.

"Well, we're here."

Jessie quickly opened her door and hopped out, smiling at the school.

"This place looks so cool! Hurry up guys! I want to go in!"

Kris and Adam got out and walked with their daughter to the 6th grade building.

"Jessie, you are in Mrs. Daniel's class," Kris said, barely looking away from the sheet of paper in his hands.

"Really? Cool. Let's go!"

As Jessie walked into the room, she saw many of her classmates playing around and fixing their desks. Immediately, she ran over to a group of girls and smiled. They looked at her and smiled back.

"Hi! I'm Jessie! What's your names?"

A brown haired girl in a red T-shirt and faded jeans was the first to answer.

"I'm Kendra."

Next came the girl nest to her, a blond girl with a white and pink striped T-shirt and white jeans.

"Hi, I'm Kiki!"

And then came the final girl. She looked mean, even from Jessie's point of view. Black short hair, brown skull-decorated shirt, black torn pants, and skinny shoes. She glared at Jessie.

"Charlie."

"Oh, nice to meet you Charlie! That's a cool name!"

"Good to know."

Slowly, Charlie walked away, rolling her eyes in disgust. Kiki rolled her eyes and smiled at Jessie.

"Ugh, forget her. She's mean. I barely like her. So, nice clothes!"

Kendra nodded, smiling too.

"They're very, very cool!"

"Thanks guys! My Dad got them for me!"

"He must be pretty cool! I bet so!" Kiki giggled. making Jessie giggle along with her.

"He's amazing. Famous, too."

Just then, Kris and Adam walked in. Kiki was shocked.

"OMG, it's Kris Allen and Adam Lambert!"

Jessie began to correct her about the last names, but as soon as she remembered the discussion she had with her fathers, the words disappeared. Instead, she ran to them.

"Hi guys! Come meet my friends!"

Kendra's mouth dropped open. "Jessie, you know them?"

"Yup. They are my parents!"

Kendra and Kiki exchanged a look and then looked back at her. Adam looked to Kris, almost as if to say "get ready for them to ask".

"You have...two fathers?"

Jessie, as if it was normal, nodded and cheerfully said, "Yup! I do!"

Kris swallowed hard as he saw Kendra's expression. She looked disgusted.

"That's.....different."

Kiki shrugged. "Guess two is better than one! Haha! Hi Adam! Hi Kris! Oops, I mean hi Jessie's parents!"

Adam laughed and waved to Kiki. "Hi Kiki. By the way, you can call us Adam and Kris. It's fine with us."

Kris waved too, but he couldn't help seeing Kendra's disgust.

"Jessie.....isn't that...not right? Bad?"

Jessie gasped, looking to her fathers for an answer.

"N-no, no! They....they're amazing! It's right to me! Not bad at all! Why did you say that?"

"My father said that was wrong. He said to never talk to people like that. Said they were bad people and that it was illegal."

Adam looked at Kendra and shook his head. "It's California. It's fine. Besides, your father is wrong about that. I'm a person. Normal person. Just because I married a boy means nothing different. You shouldn't not talk to people just because of it."

Jessie nodded. "I agree!"

Kendra frowned and shook her head. "My Dad was right. You guys are bad. Telling me to disobey my Dad. Forget it Jessie. We're not friends. Bye." Kendra ran off, leaving the room. Jessie stood motionless, tears in her eyes.

"Jessie?" Kiki asked, "Are you okay?"

Jessie shook her head. Kiki hugged her. "I'll be your friend. I don't care. You're a nice girl. Cool, too. Do you want to be my friend, too?"

Jessie nodded. "Y-yes. Please."

"Then will do!"

Jessie giggled through her small tears, making both Adam and Kris smile. Kris walked up to Kiki and held out his hand.

"Hey kid," Kris playfully said, "I'm Kris."

Kiki nearly flew as she ran to hug Kris. She shrieked loudly and giggled like a baby.

"Kris Allen, OMG you have no clue how long I have waited to meet you! My cousins will be so jealous when I tell them I met you!"

Next, Kiki looked to Adam, her eyes widening in sheer amazement. It was him, standing right there in the flesh and actually meeting her.

"OMG Adam, I swear I may faint right now!"

Kris laughed, looking up to his husband with all the love possible in his eyes. Adam winked and came over to Kiki, ruffling up her hair.

"Ha, be careful. I don't want to be in trouble for making an eleven year old faint!"

Kiki smiled and hugged him, pressing her face deep into his leathery jacket.

"Jessie, you are the luckiest kid I have ever met!"

Jessie smiled, looking up at her dads. "You know what, I agree. I love you two."

Adam hugged his daughter and kissed her cheek. "Love you too, sweetie."

Kris did the same, nuzzling Jessie close. "Same here, Jessie."
