Next, I've been meaning to post this.  My hubby got me a pop-up Doctor Who book for Christmas (it's HERE on the DW Wiki).  It's an absolute scream!  Here's one picture:

I really should stop giggling at the more obsessed Twilight fans.  It's completely hypocritical of me, seeing as I avidly fangirl shows about aliens (some of the teenage) and wizards (most of them teenage).  So why should I snicker and point at the more obsessive fans of teenage vampires in a book I've yet to read (but will read eventually, I swear ( Read more... )

One of the interesting things about the Author Auction, for me at least, was seeing how many of my fandom friends also write in other fandoms. For example, I didn't know tiemeinbows had actually begun seriously contemplating Harry Potter fanfiction! I adored (and stalked) her Roswell fics years ago, but it was a huge delight to win her at auction for HP! ( Read more... )

Okay, I actually don't "Love" fandom wank, as I know it can be pretty hurtful.  But I must admit I find it fascinating.  Sort of that car-wreck-on-the-side-of-the-road mentality.

Er, could someone more knowledgeable about the Big Name Fans in the HP fandom educate me a bit?  Who was Jacquelyne?  I see fanfics dedicated to her right and left, and I gather she's a fandom author who died recently?  Anyone have a link either to her works or to something explaining the situation?
