Start of a new year at a new gym

Well, technically we have been at this new gym since early November.  (switched from Gold's Gym to Planet Fitness.)  The hope was that we would go more since it is closer to our house.
We haven't gone as much as we probably should have, but our schedules were getting all wonky those two months.
Even though we look like those folks who just do the resolution binge and then quit after a couple months, I think we can get back into a schedule again.  (I DID have one at one time.)
While we don't have a trainer like we use to, I really like the gym.

So now to get back into the groove and get to a good pace for my first 5K in March.
I would really like to move from my 15 minute mile that I seem to be forever stuck on.  I want to eventually be able to do a 13 minute mile.  (Or a little below)  So instead of 47 minutes to cross a finish line I would love to come in before the 40 minute mark.  Still trying to convince myself that a 12 minute mile isn't out of the realm of possiblities, especially if I ever want to do a 10K.

I also need to get back into strength training.  So will be doing the circuit at our gym at least once a week and one of the other workouts that I have another day.    This means that I need to get into the gym 4 days a week.  No excuses.
(Well, unless we are dealing with snow.  And then I am shoveling at least 2 driveways, so that is my workout.)

Rather than be one of those people marking every occasion on my FB page, I think I will just put my notes here when I think of it.

goals, gym, 5k, exercise
