Stove Graduation

Sep 28, 2006 12:19

Yesterday, I finally graduated from picking arugula and mache leaves, to actually doing stove things, like blanching green beans, making poaching liquid for scampi and sauteeing trumpet mushrooms. I'm thinking "That's a Good sign" but I'm pretty scared cause everything in that restaurant has to be purr-fect. I'm thinking my sauteed trumpet mushrooms could be more evenly colored but it's hard for me to do. The saute pans are fricking heavy and can't flip it like they do on TV so I have to resort to shaking it a bit with tongs. I worked yesterday from 2pm-12 midnight and I'm not complaining but that's the longest I've worked since I got here. That's fine cause then I have more income for shopping. hhihihi.

I've been watching Project Runway since I got here and now I feel like going to fashion school. Then I remember that I can't imagine, I can't draw, and I definitely can't sew. So how the hell will I make those couture items?

I've got the whole weekend free and can't wait to sleep all day. No time to take lomo photos. Too tired. Just too tired.
