Have a very metal Christmas

While recently playing some Christmas songs on guitar I discovered that many Christmas songs can be easily turned metalrific. If I somehow ever end up releasing a random Christmas album I intend to take full advantage of this discovery. And until then I will record them or something so that I can enjoy them.

Sure, we have all heard the Sans Triberian Orchestra cover of Carol of the Bells and maybe a few of us (and by "a few of us", I mean "most likely none of us") have heard the Jethro Tull Christmas album...but those aren't really metal (sorry, 1989 Grammys, Jethro Tull isn't metal). So many of these songs have untouched potential to my knowledge.

What Child is This, Carol of the Bells, O Holy Night, We Three Kings, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen...all I know to be good when played in a heavier manner. But I guess we wont actually be able to experience the potentially great metalness of these and other Christmas songs until I write a letter to Megadeth, or Dream Theater (or Metallica even...if we were living in 1987), or someone else and convince them to release a Christmas album. Or even better, I would love to see a metal band dedicated to holiday songs. Oh snap, that would rule. Let's keep hoping for that.

...Yes, I know "metalrific" isn't a word.
