Tightie Whities

So yeah, between this network and LiveJournal itself, I'm never again going to type in an update without going through Notepad. Rather than try to recreate the work of beauty that you all would have seen, I'll just give the abridged version.

The first part of this past weekend consisted of yet another Sarnia trip. Perhaps it's just because I'm just now writing about it, but it seemed very routine. You know, a game of Risk, movie watching, playing frisbee, walks on the beach, cooking, etc. It was entertaining though, due in large part to a two hour conversation with my man Andy French on instincts and their relation to the proper governing of men. The fact that I absolutely loved this conversation, and the fact that you had to re-read that phrase at least once and probably three or four times should come as no surprise to anyone that knows me. His girlfriend Kelli (hope I got the name right) was a joy as well, being incredibly helpful with her hair-dying tips and stares at my outbursts of insanity. All in all, I would call the trip a positive experience.

I departed the country of Canada early Sunday morning, and came in to Flint not with the breeze, but more like a gale (don't worry motherly folk, I believe I kept my speed to a double-digit number for the entire trip
). But why was I rushing you ask? To see my good friends Melanie and Rachel of course, who were finally coming up to visit me after planning the event for almost a year! I was initially at a total loss for ideas, so I gave the two ladies a tour of our enormous campus. After that twenty-minute stroll, I found myself scrambling again. Not to worry though, because Melanie jumped to the rescue with thoughts of food. After stuffing ourselves with the fare of Bennigan's, we did what any group of nineteen- and twenty-year-olds would do: hung out in parks! Swings, monkey bars, wooden house things, strangers calling me Eminem... we experienced it all. It was at one of the parks that we started talking about, of all things, underwear. This topic was destined to stick around on and off for at least 12 hours. It kicked ass. Anyway, after the parks we went to the Flint Institute of the Arts to check out some paintings, and finished off the visit with some delicious ice cream. I was so excited that it went well and that we ended up not having enough time. As it turns out, the day lead into a very lively IM chat that evening, with topics ranging from relationships to conversational style to hidden meanings to music to stretch marks to childhood to... you guessed it... underwear
. Sunday rocked.

And finally we come to this week. I have been perpetually busy and perpetually behind, and yet only three things of note have come out of it. One: I was elected to the RHA position of MOCC on Monday night. Two: I ran the Ugly RA program tonight, which did not really go over as well as I had hoped. Three: I re-dyed my hair to its beautiful turqoise, and this time I got a picture. I'm praying for the weekend...
