Style and Flair, Style and Flair, Silver Pants and Turquoise Hair

Again, so much to report. I suppose I'll start off with the most readily apparent changes. I am now one of those punky-colored loonies you see walking around and can't help but look at. After a one-day stint as a superblonde, I went all out and made my hair a wonderful turquoise which is far too rapidly fading to green. I love it so far, though, and can't wait until I can do silver. It certainly has opened me up to tons of attention, which is kinda cool. I'll post pictures as soon as I have them.

The other big event was a weekend-long stay at MORHA, the conference for Michigan residence halls (circus-themed this year). I was amazed at the amount of cheering that went on. Seriously, it was like a cheerleader convention or something. Tons of fun, though. Friday began with classes and lead into the wintry and snow-filled drive down I-69 to Grand Valley. Once there, we started things off with everyone doing various cheers and then roll call, which is each school's chance to do a skit or dance or whatever introducing themselves. Kettering B (my delegation) did a skit in which we were a clown troupe who kept screwing up by having the balloon animal representing the mascot for every school but Kettering. With the constant pushing ot the head clown ("Come on, we've rehearsed this!", "You guys know this one", "Allright allright, one last chance"), we finally finish off the schools and collectively remember that we're the Kettering Bulldogs. Corny, I know, but it got a good reaction. The rest of Friday was split between working on a residence hall case study, a ninety minute volleyball game starting at 4:00 AM, and just chatting with delegates from other schools.

Saturday consisted of insane amounts of cheering, and checking out residence hall programming. This too was fun, if self-explanatory. There were a lot of cool ideas which I hope to try out here. After a mix-up at the hotel, we were all set to get ready to show up late for the awards banquet. I was definitely the sore thumb, creating the most striking stylistic contrast that I've ever seen in my nice conservative suit and brilliant hair. Everyone had something to say about it. After the banquet, about which I've basically said everything, we had a dance. It was awesome. Natalie basically got it all right with her "prancing around your room in silver pants while bopping your turquoise head" comment
