Stick a spork in me - the shawl embroidery is done! Wow, that was a lot of embroidery...and yet oddly it took about the same time as any one of the embroidered wedding gown elements (ie. corset, or both sleeves, or both shoes). Go figure.
My coworker paid me $19 to patch a pair of ripped jeans (would have been $20 but all she had was $19, which amuses me greatly for some reason), so I was able to pick up the ivory backing cotton - yay for fabric stores that are perpetually "going out of business"! - and will trim, press, and back the shawl this weekend.
girasole, you should have it by early next week. Assuming Connecticut doesn't get washed away over the weekend, that is.
Next up: tie vest for
girasole, tatted pearl necklace/earring set for
sakon76.
Also: find bag of jewelry that got aggressively cleaned away pre-wedding, put more stuff on etsy store. While I'm at it, try again to find my checks (two closets have thus far failed to disgorge them). Take pictures of two little rose-and-pearl appliques I made for my wedding shoes and then never added (combination of running out of time and deciding I liked the shoes without 'em), add them to etsy store as well. Apparently people like to buy handcrafted components on etsy, so maybe someone will take them off my hands.
Finally: I'm considering making and posting more tatted tree ornaments. Or possibly just one to start with. This one will be black lace over a frosted white globe, and I will call it "Putting On the Ritz" - for the sophisticated, elegant holiday tree.
