Last weekend was B-Con, our annual gaming convention. It was a lot of fun. I got to play
Munchkin,
Star Munchkin, and
Munchkin Fu. Some interesting conversations:
Player I don't know: I think I'll turn in my...
Will (in a different conversation): Nuts!
Me: I'm up against the Male Chauvinist Pig. He's +5 against females.
Will: But I'm not sure that you're female.
Me: WHAT?!?
Apparently Will thought gender was a card you picked up, like race or
class. (In all the Munchkin games, your character starts out the
same gender as you are [unless you wear one of the Munchkin shirts, in
which case your character can start out the same gender as the
character on the shirt].) He gave me permission to hurt him if I
wanted to. He also gave me a week in which to do it, in case I
decided to later.
arianadawnhawk and joansies were sitting next to each other at one point, and we
noted that, when put together, their shirts said, "Hug me, I'm Jesus
Christ, a sci-fi geek Superstar."
I took my midterms and I think I did well on them. (I know I did
well on the Middle East one; I think I did well on the Creative Writing
one. The Spanish test was pushed back to after spring break [¡Muchas gracias, profesora!].) A quote I overheard before the Middle East test:
Student 1: Well, I read the whole book.
Student 2: That's because you're a freshman.
And me discussing my character for my Orpheus RPG: "My character's like
me. But with a wife. And guns." She also has some
very interesting items in her arsenal. ::evil laughter::
We ("we" being elftao, lordxeen, arianadawnhawk, Monkey, hawkeyeop, mmouse9799, and I) went to see the Vagina Monologues (or as elftao calls it, Vagimon [the newest and most disturbing Pokémon]).
It was awesome! It was hilarious and heartbreaking and
admiring and beautiful and I so want to be involved in it next
year. We got vagina-shaped chocolates, which we plan to eat
salaciously.
Going to visit Z. and L. and !J for a week! So happy!
