Chapter 4
Jaejoong was putting together something for them to eat when he heard Yunho coming inside.
“Jaejoong, where are you?”
“In the kitchen.”
“Oh. Anyway, I went to store, I thought we have to have something to drink or it will be too boring. ” Yunho said with grin, pulling out 2 six-packs of bear out of a bag.
Jaejoong just chuckled and shook his head.
After getting their plates with food and cans of bear to Jaejoong’s living room, they sat down to eat and talk.
It was pretty late when drinking his fourth can of bear when jaejoong remembered.
“Oh! Now you can tell me about your new girlfriend!”
“Well, I don’t know if I can cell her my girlfriend yet.”
“Why so? It sounded like you really like her.”
“Yeah, I do, but it’s not that easy.”
“Why?” Jaejoong asked not understanding
“Well actually…she’s an actress. She’s getting pretty famous now so we have to keep it a secret.”
Jaejoong almost choked on his bear. Yunho just laughed and patted his brother on the back.
“You got to be kidding me! How…?”
“As I already said, we met at a party after our game. My friend introduced us, we talked, she was still cautious but apparently, she trusted me enough to exchange numbers, so…” Yunho shrugged.
“Is that’s why you don’t want to tell parents? Because she’s famous?”
“No, not really. I will tell when it will be possible for them to meet her.”
“You want parents to meet one of your girlfriends? That’s rare.”
“Hey, she’s not one of the girlfriends. I really hope we will have serious relationships.”
“Well then, I hope so too. And do you know when that moment will come, when you introduce her?”
“Currently she’s filming in video for some boy band and she told me she had some other stuff to do for a few weeks. After that she has some free time.”
“I bet they will be happy that you finally have someone so important to you.”
Yunho just nodded with a faraway smile.
Jaejoong was genuinely curious of who this girl was, to charm his playboy brother to this extent. It was no secret Yunho has had a lot of girlfriends through high school and University. He was the type of a guy all girls dreamt of having for themselves, and Yunho wasn’t afraid, so to say, use this. He wasn’t bad person for dumping them, really, he told he just didn’t feel anything after some time of dating, they were all the same, hoping to get in the pants of the most popular jock of the school or something.
He was pulled from his thoughts when he realized Yunho had esked him a question. “What?”
“I said: how about you? You don’t have anyone you like? When I was 21…it was crazy!” He just continued ignoring Jaejoong’s mumble of; ‘It was just last year you doofus’ “Partying, bringing girls home…” but then he snapped out of memories and added “but now I have someone who I wouldn’t change for any of those girls.”
“Have you forgotten about my ‘exiting’ high school life? I though you would have understood that I won’t be the one to bring girls home.” Jaejoong said looking at his almost empty plate.
“Shit, Jae, sorry. Of course I didn’t forget.” Yunho said putting arm around Jaejoong’s shoulders. “You know I just was just kidding.”
“Don’t worry, Yunho, it’s okay, it’s all in the past.” Jaejoong said, forcing out a smile he hoped looked genuine enough.
He really hadn’t thought about for some time now.
The city and High school where he went weren't that big, but even there, minds of students were full of overrated stereotypes and unjustified prejudice.
The first year everyone though he was just quiet and mysterious pretty boy. The “fun” started with his second year. Suddenly someone (guess who?’) let everyone know that he was from orphanage, being taken in some family who pitied him for him situation
‘Mention to anyone you’re my step brother and you’ll regret it.’
Jaejoong hoped that the kids in second year were mature enough to ignore it or at least forget after some time. Oh, but how wrong he was.
‘I didn’t have to tell anyone for my life to be hell.’
Rumors weren’t ignored, he himself was. He was called the pity-case, he was an empty place in class, there weren’t place for him in cafeteria, most memorable place from high school was library, where he stayed for hours after school ended and everyone went home.
He ignored it all, kept strong and hoped for high school to end faster.
Then came hope in form of exchange student from the states. His name was Yoochun, he was easy-going, one who could become friends with anyone he decided to. And once he decided to become friends with the boy always sitting in back of the class. His persistence paid of when slowly Jaejoong started to let him go through his barriers set.
But peace was short-lived. You see, when the outcast gets friendly with someone "normal" and starts to even look happier, there is definitely something behind it’ and someone probably hates it. This time it was Yoochun’s ‘bestie’ - Junsu; top soccer player, cheerful, likeable guy and one who everyone loved.
‘Stupid people.’.
With third year came the rumors.
'Why is he always with Yoochun?’
‘I know right, I’ve never seen him with a girl!’
‘Do you think...’
‘Most probably.’
‘Ugh, Disgusting!’
At that time Jaejoong thought highschoolers must not be as stupid as Jaejoong believed.
Third year was a disaster when Oh so devastated Junsu told everyone how he was sure that Jaejoong was in love with Yoochun, how he was always blushing, etc.
Jaejoong new from the beginning he was the stupidest of them all, because it wasn’t Yooochun who he had the secret crush on.
