Chapter 5

Next morning when Jaejoong woke up, he cursed Yunho for pulling out that bottle of Soju he hid in his jacket. ‘Sly bastard.’ He knew Jaejoong wouldn’t have agreed to mixing drinks when he was still sober.

Sitting up he saw his brother still sleeping and thought of a way to wake him up. “Yah! Wake up! We have things to do!”
Both of them had fallen asleep on the living room couch. They slept on each side of it, so it was really easy for Jaejoong to kick Yunho’s ass…literally.
“Hyung, wake up!”
“Yeah, ‘m up, just spare my butt.”
“Whatever, I am going to take shower. I hope you will go home and have one too. I don’t want father to think we are sleeping in for no reason.”
“But it’s still early.” Yunho whined finally sitting up.
“For you maybe but not for me.” Jaejoong said closing the bathroom door.
“Aish. No respect for his hyung.”

Day went by fast and when evening came everything was set up and ready for the arrival of the guests. Seonghyeon’s friend had called to ask if they could come later tonight.
As the only thing that has to be done was to clean up the rooms, his father agreed.

While putting on new blankets on his bed Jaejoong wondered how Jessica even agreed to living with him. He definitely didn’t hate his step sister; he even tried not to anger her in any way to keep peace in family. Their parents didn’t like it when someone fought or argued. And not angering Jessica meant not talking to her when situation didn’t ask for that, meaning; when their parent weren’t present.

Just as he was done, he heard someone opening the doors downstairs and coming in. He thought it was Yunho, he was the one who usually came in here without knocking.
When he heard heels clicking he understood immediately and rolled his eyes. Who else would wear heels at home?
“I can’t believe I have to stay in this place. It smells like dust and dirt, have you ever cleaned up here? Luckily I don’t have to stay all day.”
Yeah that’s Jessica for you. Jaejoong could never understand how from such a nice family comes a case like that.
“I changed blankets and freed that shelf if you need somewhere to place your stuff and the - …”
“Yeah, ok. Now could you leave? I have a headache.”
“Alright, if you need anything, I’ll be outside.”
“Whatever, go away, already.”

Now, this really was rude. No matter what he had to go through because of her, he never complained and now Jaejoong even allowed her to stay at his place, his room even. He cleaned up and made it as comfortable as possible for Jessica, and that’s how she talks to him?

“Seriously, Jessica? Why are you acting like this all the time? What have I ever done to you?”
“What have you done? Let’s see…Coming to this family? And the way I act is no business of yours!” Jessica raised her voice.
“How can it not be my business, when you talk shit about me behind my back? You have to be thankful that I decided to be nice and not to tell our parents about things you did in High.”
“Thing I did? You hurt my parents by ruining our family reputation!”
“What the hell, Jessica! First, you were the one who told everyone about me and second; I thought you were old enough to notice how you are the only one who cares about image, reputation or whatever.”
In the background he heard his mother calling for them worried.
“Are you ok, guys? You have to come down to greet the quests.”
“We’ll be right down, mom!” Shouted Jaejoong.
“Don’t you see that you are the one hurting our family with your actions? Grow up finally, will you?” With that said Jaejoong left the room to go downstairs.

While Jaejoong was wearing his shoes, he heard Jessica walking past him without a word. ‘Mean girls-wannabe.’ He didn’t let their conversation affect his mood so he stepped out of the house with a smile.

“And there comes our Jaejoong! Do you still remember him?”
“Omo, all grown up but still so pretty!” yeah, that’s the same lady he remembers from that time years ago.
“Dear, he’s a boy. Don’t you know every man has his pride, we don’t like to be called pretty!”

Jaejoong just grinned and bowed in greeting. “Good evening, sorry for being late and thank you aunty. And uncle, don’t worry, I am already used to it, someone her makes sure to use that way to destroy my pride every chance he gets.” He said pocking Yunho and making everyone laugh.

Suddenly there was a new voice. “So it was actually true, mom I thought you were playing matchmaker for kids, trying to get me to play with a girl.”

When Jaejoong saw him, he was definitely surprised.’ Is he really just 18?’ Tall, tanned skin, muscled arms, nice haircut…

“Jaejoong, do you remember our son Changmin?”
“I remember that Changmin, but not this one.” Jaejoong said laughing, making others do so too.
“I didn’t recognize him at first too! You have grown up in such a young handsome man, Changminie!” Added Jaejoong’s mother.
“Hi, Changmin, I’m Jaejoong. At least now we won’t have to worry about aunty playing a matchmaker, right?” Jaejoong greeted Changmin with a handshake and a grin.

Everyone started to laugh and talk again. Between the laugher of their parents he thought he heard a low whisper of “yeah, what a shame”.
