Kids at Art!

Dec 22, 2007 22:05

Got to join the Kids at Art Teachers' Training seminar for GAMS as an official sit-in. Teacher Rita had extra materials though so I still got to do some stuff :) The training was so that we can facilitate the arts and crafts sessions we'll be offering to the kids very soon.

The final results:

Abovewater still life drawings, crayon on sandpaper

Underwater still life drawings, crayon on sandpaper. Since the sandpaper and crayons were waterproof, the facilitator had us sketch while we were snorkelling. It was hard work, considering the current is pretty strong this time of year.

Island lanterns, colored glue on glass jars. You first squiggle white glue on the outside of the jar - it looks frosted when it dries. Next come the various colored glues, glitter glue, and 3D paint. Put a lit tea light candle inside and voila! Island lantern :D

The proud graduates, wearing the tie dyed shirts we made.

Whee. I want to do this more often :D
