the inner consumer roars

Okay, here goes. This entry contains the wishlist for Christmas 2007. Unabashed materialism follows. Of course, handwritten, snail mailed letters are good too :)

music:
- "Talk on Corners" by The Corrs (the original one, not the remix)
- "RENT" Original Broadway Cast Recording
- "The Bodyguard" OST - yes, ang corny ko shet.

TV/movies:
- shoujo Japanese dramas (ex. Hana Kimi, Hana Yori Dango, Hana Yori Dango 2, Gokusen - though I already have all 4. Hehe). Extra squee factor if it stars Oguri Shun and/or Matsumoto Jun. Wehehe.
- DVD-quality copy of "Rurouni Kenshin" - yes, this is still my favorite anime of all time
- "Yakitate Japan"
- any fun anime that you'd like to recommend (preferred genres: shoujo (though no "magical girl" please :p), action)

books/comics:
- anything on travel writing (though there was one by Lonely Planet that seems to be promising)
- anything on underwater photography
- anything on travel photography
- "The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende
- "Star Wars Rogue Squadron: Requiem for a Rogue" graphic novel - it's the only one I'm missing. Grar.
- "Interworld" by Neil Gaiman
- anything by Roald Dahl except for the two Charlie books
- donations to the "Potter's Place" library :)

miscellaneous:
- plain black hairclips (the metal ones that bend open then snap closed)
- beach and/or underwater-themed LJ and/or Multiply layout
- Sculpey (various colors) and associated extras (rolling pin, knife, etc)
- paint for Sculpey (various colors)
- sewing needles
- Coppertone Sport sunblock :p
- a net bag big enough to hold my mask, snorkel, fins, and other assorted diving junk
- sunglasses. Even after 10 months on the island, I still don't own a decent pair of sunglasses.

what I'm thinking of getting for myself:
- a digital SLR. I'm starting to do research for this one. Technically, I can afford it but I'm still debating on whether I should because this will clean out my savings. Bwahaha. But grad school! Ack.

15 days before Christmas and I still haven't finished my shopping. Whoohoo!

wishful thinking, christmas
