It actually opened at 9am today. How 'bout that! Looks like they'll have to re-close it again in a few months for more fixing:

Bay Bridge - closed for Monday commute

Caltrans officials said tonight that the Bay Bridge will remain closed for Monday morning's commute, extending the pain felt by the region's commuters into a second week.

Speaking at a press conference this evening, the officials would not estimate when the bridge might reopen.

Only 2 hours after the original schedule, 22 hours ahead of the updated schedule.

Man, I heart Caltrans. They do some good work.

After predicting that the bridge would be closed until Wednesday 5am, they opened it just 2 hours late, at 7am TODAY.

I was so prepared for a nasty BART ride this morning. Yay yay oh yay.

I just drove south on 880 and traffic is astounding in both directions -- it's because of the public memorial for the 4 Oakland cops who were killed recently. Cops from all over the state are coming to it. I saw cop-cars from West Covina & South Lake Tahoe (among others, of course).

Tonight daylight saving time begins. Set your clocks forward 1 hour (if you are in the US, and not in Arizona or the few other places that don't observe DST).

(Most countries around the world do observe DST nowadays, but they don't all start at the same time, especially this year.)
