psa: AVOID 880 TODAY!
I just drove south on 880 and traffic is astounding in both directions -- it's because of the public memorial for the 4 Oakland cops who were killed recently. Cops from all over the state are coming to it. I saw cop-cars from West Covina & South Lake Tahoe (among others, of course).
TAKE 580 IF YOU POSSIBLY CAN. I probably will when coming home today.
(On the plus side, I've never *seen* so many different kinds of cop-cars. Different cities, different styles of car. Almost all had their lights on. The motorcycle cops riding in formation are, of course, the most impressive.)
