TV commentary:

Walking Dead- How hypocritical! Like I get Dwight killed Denise, but Tara complaining about how they're supposed to trust him just switching sides like that. Hmm, the gang taking someone who attacked them in? Like her, who attacked the prison with the Governor? He brings up the point that he killed his own people, and not only that Laura got away, so he can't go back if he wanted to, if she told them what he did.

Anyways, Dwight gives them advice how to get to the Hilltop via a swamp even the Saviors avoid. But Tara still distrusts him, and basically tries to lead him off and executes him. She give chase, and they narrowly avoid being seen by Saviors getting ready to check the swamp, even though those Saviors think its pointless.

So he pops out of hiding, says he escaped an ambush at Alexandria, and finds out they haven't seen Laura. And so he leads the Saviors away all, "naw, the swamp is empty, if I were them I'd to stick to this other road."

And so now Tara is cool with Dwight now, since he led the Saviors away, with Rosita, who also witnessed his actions backing her up. Of course, even though it was Daryl telling Tara to cool it, now he's all pissed at Dwight thinking, "he could be telling them everything!" Seriously?! Like is there some sort of contract where only one of Tara or Daryl can be friggin reasonable?

Meanwhile, Dr Carson and Gabriel have a crazy misadventure trying to get to the Hilltop, with Gabriel slowly losing his sight due to infection. Father Gabriel tries to convince Carson to have faith- after their car breaks down, they find a secluded cabin, which randomly has antibiotics Gabriel needed. They also randomly find keys to a car in a garage nearby, and even though the doc steps into a bear trap and attracts zombies while trying to get a car, Gabriel manages to not set off the other bear traps while running to save him, even though he's blind. And then, he still manages to shoot he walker off the doctor despite being blind.

Of course, once the doctor starts having Gabriel's faith, they get caught by the Saviors, and one of the idiots shoots him (even though he's the only doctor they have). So Gabriel is just devastated, because he was trying to get he doctor to the hilltop to save Maggie.

Little does he know the Alexandrians made it to the Hilltop, and just got a new doctor in Siddiq. Anyways, seeing everyone pulling together and pitching in and hearing about Carl's death makes her see that maybe they can win without being hard. And so she acquiesces to the prisoners' request for a little time out of the pen, and giving them as much food as the rest of them are eating (quarter rations) even though they're running low on food and supplies.

Despite this bit of uplifting news, they got some bad stuff coming. Eugene gets his own outpost to make bullets (and miraculously, Gabriel does not out Eugene as the one helping him escape, laying the blame on the now dead doctor), but he's not making progress quick enough to Negan's liking. Eugene suggests some psychological warfare of tossing zombie parts over the hilltop walls to freak them out, but inadvertently gives Negan the idea of coating weapons with zombie blood to infect people. Whoops! Good thing Dwight is back with the Saviors to possibly work against them.
