I got a new loyalty card from the coffee stall this morning; text says "tenth one is on us, so I'm going to count that for the new
photo_scavenger prompt, "on".
So many things to do, so little time; I've chosen three things to prioritise right now:
1) Getting on with the walks report for Stag Walkers tongiht; I keep putting it off, putting it off;
2) Another chore that I procrastinate over: ironing my shirts; and
3) (Right, this is where I start to rant); the two click and collect orders that I've had to go into the shops to get. The first one I got fine, and it was a good excuse to get a desk break, but then this evening I went to collect the one that should have been delivered yesterday because I was in.
I dislike having to go into our local post office, primarily because it's a Martin McColl's.
Martin McColl's really are the worst convenience store chain in the country, as far as I'm concerned, and always seem to have unhelpful or rude staff. I last set foot in our local one on the first official day of lockdown, and haven't been back.
Reason: The woman at the counter was standing there on the phone, ignoring me and the old man who was waiting to be served, while constantly casting me glances like he wanted to know why I was standing all the way across the shop waiting (reason: social distancing); in the end, I decided this was ridiculous, and the old man's constant stares were making me uncomfortable, so I put back the newspaper I was attempting to buy, and left.
It's not even the worst McColl's I've been in; I've been served by total jobsworths in their other branches.
Anyway, I came to get the parcel tonight; the message I got said they would be open until 8 tonight. It was just before half past six when I arrived, to find the doors...
Locked.
So, I'm going to have to make another trip back when I'm working from home, since during the day seems to be the only time to catch these people open.
.
I've now climbed 813m for WaterAid.
