I'm not always a big one for acknowledging people in the mornings, but lately I've found myself walking past the same bearded, backwards baseball cap-wearing street sweeper in the morning, and we've said morning to each other twice.
It gives me a sense of well-being I often neglected over the last few years, and I was able to be all cheerful this morning despite my worried about cancelled and delayed trains.
I've been trying to practice active listening to others at work today, so have really listened to what they are saying, giving them my undivided attention, even when unforeseen events arise like me finding myself booted out of a skype call for no apparent reason.
I do have colleagues who will stare at computer screens when I chat to them; I try to think about their business, and not take offense too much.
This week's
photo_scavenger prompt is "food: origin", and I was a bit stuck until I glanced off the train while it was stopped in a station, and saw some blackberry bushes; the sort of place where food comes from.
Food for animals, railway engineers and those with a death wish; it's only really accessible from the tracks!
On Strava, the Black Trail Runners 3.1 Challenge is finished, and I have started two fresh challenges:
* Mont Brooks Challenge, a collective challenge to climb 15.2 million metres in just a week; seems a tall order, but the collective goal is currently 1,495,200m (I can't claim credit for much of that); and
* HOKA x UTMB Fly Fearless Challenge; I have recorded 3km out of 55km.
I'm looking forward to watching House of the Dragon tonight; the reviews have been positive.
The coffee stall at work opens on Wednesday; that's exciting!
