Tonight Zack and I had dinner at Cowboys and it was karaoke night. Michael Heaton, the Plain Dealer columnist, used to say there are two kinds of people who do karaoke. Drunk people, and people who were in drama club in high school. There were a lot of drunk people at Cowboys =) When I was singing "My Own Worst Enemy," a whole gang of them had to come get onstage with me. People love that song, the whole room goes crazy! Who doesn't love a song about throwing things and the smoke alarm going off!

Couple catchup fotoes:

Somethink that irks me is that that is a REAL tan I am sporting in these pictures, so why does it look so orange? My new camera has several awesomes, it's rechargeable and has no doors to break, but the colors are wonky.

I am slightly obsessed with Art Alexakis right now. I have always loved Everclear, have seen them twice, even got a sweaty Craig Montoya towel once, not to mention that Everclear is the band that lets the audience get up on the stage during the encores. And Art is an amazing songwriter, but lately he moves me even more than usual. Isn't it sad that "Father of Mine." the song about parental abandonment, is the song that finally catapulted Everclear to double platinum success? And their most successful single, "Wonderful," is about parents fighting! It sucks that so many people relate to those subjects!

Corollary to this: why am I not a better songwriter? I've even studied the process, and god knows I have the emotional fodder! Been trying to write one in particular, not getting anywhere so far. Partially it is lack of musical collaboration. I suggested Zack buy a guitar. We'll see if that goes anywhere.

In tie dye land, I'd like to say:

and

and in conclusion I am feeling pretty fucking GOOD about tie dye land!

NaNoWriMo is about to start, and I have an idea I'm SO excited about. Tracy has been helping me brainstorm. Been slacking on the outlining though. If only I could ever be alone in the house!

Tomorrow: carving of pumpkins!
