So. Has anyone actually received evidence of their home's destruction in the form of video footage? I'm not referring to those unfortunate ones who actually witnessed such events in person, of course; only those who had previously had nothing but the word of the Vogons to go on. I'm curious as to whether or not I should be expecting something in ( Read more... )

...Well now that you mention it...I don't really remember much. I was packing some things for a journey I was about to take when everything just went....white. Next thing I knew I was on this ship and they were saying something about my planet imploding because of...what was it...time lines? I'm not sure...I saw no lines made of time. [she giggles nervously] But I don't think the crew would lie to us! That's silly.

Any sillier than an entire planet imploding?

...[oh snap]

Well! I have seen crazier things...Like the entire Moon trying to crash down and destroy my home...

A world is a fragile thing. Imagining its downfall is child's play.

Not every world.

I presume you count yours among that number?

[Gary would filter this message, but he's not much for computers or, in this case, electronic space encyclopedias and their related blog services. Instead he settles for being annoyingly ambiguous.]

Is that what happened, then? Hmm. Well, congrats to them.

[There's a pause and the sound of shuffling fabric, or perhaps he's distractedly repositioning the Guide.]

...Do we have any evidence against what the Vogons are telling us?

We do, actually. But why bother collecting evidence against when they've yet to provide any real evidence for?

Well, I mean, they seem like a fairly meticulous species. Forms for everything and all that. Which means that, if our planets were distroyed, then there would be some definite documentation about it, somewhere. It might take some searching and a few authorization passes, but we could probably find all the evidence we need for or against them by playing along with their, er, species' standards.

That is, unless the crew's done that already and that would be what we have against them. I'd like to know what this is, by the way.

Documentation can be easily faked.

Those morons may have given us more information, but the panic they caused wasn't worth it. They scared kids, innocent people and even other refugees! I'm not working with them.

[And here his voice takes on a far more gentler tone.]

I haven't seen the footage, but I'm not entirely convinced we should believe it. On my world, there's someone who can make illusions. He makes you see things that aren't really there. I'm not sure how much we should trust the captains. I'm still trying to think about what we should do next.

In the mean time, maybe we should just sit tight for a while longer. Atleast until we can find a way to prove that we won't die if we leave the ship.

I must disagree. A small scare for a scant two days is incomparable to the loss and confusion many have felt for months and months on end.

Two wrongs don't make a right. You involved innocent people in your plan, and now you're in jail because you couldn't think of a better way.

I went to great pains to avoid directly implicating anyone outside my plan, actually. Those that attempted were dissuaded so they would not hurt themselves or others.

I am in jail because I did what I thought I must. It yielded positive results, and no one was injured. I have no regrets.

Implying there is a better way yet taking no action is not helpful in any way.
