Ptui!

I feel like I've been swimming in a mud puddle, but I've only been working in the garden for the last two hours. Fall clean up is mostly complete, including staking the prone aster (when I got it back to vertical it was taller than I am) and the monkshood. I planted lots of bulbs: three kinds of daffodils, tulips (the candy stick kind), frittilaria, grape hyacinths, species crocus, two kinds of reticulata iris, and anemones (the little early spring kind). Also two more asters. And I cleared the spent annuals out of the three tubs and assorted other planters, and planted winter pansies in the three tubs.

I love my garden, I truly do. But I really hate how much I sweat working in it. Sweat in your eyes stings, you know? And sweat on your glasses makes it hard to see what you're doing. Yeah, I need a headband or a bandanna. Or half a dozen of them (I can soak one in about fifteen minutes of hard work).

Trying a new mole repellant in with the bulbs -- here's hoping it works and I get to keep my bulbs more than one year this time.
