Kitchen experiment-Ginger and Garlic

Based on something I read online, I put some garlic cloves and a nubbin of ginger in soil on my kitchen windosill. I've grown garlic greens before, but Rachel Ray is going for garlic bulbs and ginger root harvesting.

I'll let y'all know how it goes. At the very least, I'll get some pretty greenery to keep me company through the winter.
