I've got back into Pottermore again recently. Although I'm really busy with my FMP, it's actually been ideal because there's no time limit to it so I can dip in as and when and do things at my own pace. It's been a good way to get a 10-15 minute break with a coffee mid-morning or mid-afternoon.
That is until things like this happen:

That is Polyjuice Potion being brewed. As I'm sure you remember, in Chamber of Secrets, the Triumvirate use the potion to access the Slytherin Common Room. So you have to do the same in Pottermore. Unless, you are one of the chosen few who are sorted into Slytherin in which case, you don't need to. Which I think is hysterical. Anyway, Moste Potente Potions says that Polyjuice is incredibly difficult to make and so it is on Pottermore. The most difficult bit is having the patience. The potion itself is split into two parts and each part has two sections, so you do the first section, leave it to brew for an allotted time and then come back to do the other bit. The allotted time depends on the kind of cauldron you have but if you have the basic pewter one as I do here, the first part takes 80 minutes to brew. The second part takes 1440 minutes. I'll save you reaching for a calculator, that's 24 hours. One entire day. And if you don't come back in time, the potion will explode, destroying your cauldron and probably losing you housepoints in the process. It does give you a bit of leeway to return but even so you can't just come back when you feel like it.
I know there's people of all ages on the site but with the amount of child safety policies put into place they're obviously expecting a high proportion to be children/teenagers. (e.g. numbers are not allowed in comments or statuses to stop people giving out their dates of birth, phone numbers and addresses. You can't even use the words 'date of birth' either.) How many children will have the patience to wait 24 hours for the second part of the potion? You can't progress any further until it's completed either so unless you're able to duel, you're pretty much stuck where you are. And what if you do the second section wrong and have to redo that part? You have to wait another 24 hours! I have a bit more patience to wait that long but I had to work it round my actual life to make sure that it was a day and time when I could finish it off. I even had to set an alarm on my phone so I wouldn't forget! It all seems a wee bit extreme to me.
Eep! My potion is ready! I have to go and add the lacewing flies and Slytherin hair now. Yum.
