So this is the message I got out of last night's Supernatural: How dare Bela, or any woman really, appear on this show, fight back against the things and people that are oppressing her, and try to take matters into her own hands to save herself using the only means and skills she had at her disposal. If she had only realized how worthless and weak she actually was, and gone to a couple of gun-wielding rootless strange men like Sam and Dean and made puppy-dog eyes and asked them to save her, maybe then it all would have been okay and she would have ended up as a pretty corpse like all the other women on this show. Because you know that in Supernatural-world there are only two choices for women: You can be a victim, or you can stand up for yourself and be labeled a bitch and hated by fandom and die anyway.

Am I far off the mark here?
