And Micah...And Molly...Jeremy's dead (poor sweetheart)...and Luke...Did I miss anymore kids? West is...somewhere (NYU if you follow canon). Zach is God-knows-where...Okay, Kring just hates kids and parents, it's official.
And I used to think that, too, about Sylar's motives for showing up at Mercy. However it never quite clicked for me (it was my assumption). I had to rewatch it for some quote for MBU and noticed a LOT of things different when I was looking for Nathan-specific things (again, I don't have a great Peter or Nathan muse, but I can tell when something's OOC for them). Sylar does a lot of pausing, looking around/away and a WHOLE lot of Sylar-playing-Nathan indicators that are, apparently, suddenly clear as day to me and I enjoy reading body language. I have since adopted GB's theory as that fits better for me (at least as far as MBU/my Sylar goes).
I'm with DD3 that SyHammer definitely delivered the 'Imma checking you out' look.
I can't stop wondering what Sylar is doing at the hospital. Did he go to look for Peter because he assumed that Peter would be up to something now? Did he follow Angela?
Ooo! Good point! See, I'd assumed he'd gone to the hospital because that's where Peter worked and thus it was easy to find him. Though I'd also wondered why he didn't just wait at Pete's apartment, where he's likely to be alone, but whatever. Yet the idea that Sy followed Angela is yummy.
I think part of what makes this scene with the nail gun so powerful is that you just know that this is Peter having a bit of a breakdown. Noah could probably do this kind of damage without the kind of guild complex Peter is likely to have later on. Peter just isn't normally this brutal so it's more shocking.
Yeah, to me, Peter is having a total breakdown here. He's really off the deep end and showing his grief by being fairly out of character for himself.
IMO, it's Sylar-as-Nathan (for whatever reason, I do happen to like your fanon for it - I need to have you explain the roof top scene to me from your fanon again, though
( ... )
Nathan is pretty fast and smooth when he talks, very practiced. Sylar is halting, figuring things out as he goes, looking away/around, smiling an awful lot at Peter, buying time, walking ahead or behind Peter, staring at Peter a lot...None of those strike me as Nathan things.
Ah! I like your explanation! The Nathan-form of Sylar having trouble keeping his thoughts and memories straight, having trouble accessing the right memory bank. That makes sense!
