I swear Nurse!Sylar just gave Peter the head to toe glance.
I can't stop wondering what Sylar is doing at the hospital. Did he go to look for Peter because he assumed that Peter would be up to something now? Did he follow Angela?
I love that they have the ticking in the background for this scene. It's very fitting.
It's pretty telling that in a physical confrontation without any powers Peter is the better fighter. Sylar can get some good hits in but overall he's reliant on his powers.
I think part of what makes this scene with the nail gun so powerful is that you just know that this is Peter having a bit of a breakdown. Noah could probably do this kind of damage without the kind of guild complex Peter is likely to have later on. Peter just isn't normally this brutal so it's more shocking.
Is it weird that I think it wouldn't be a horrible idea for Claire to work for a normal carnival? I just have trouble understanding why anyone would want to live in a community like this that included Samuel. He just gives off such a skeevy vibe.
Claire if a strange guy randomly invites you back to his place you aren't supposed to go!
I find it interesting that Noah refers to the carnival as a nest.
"Shoot them all and hope for the best." This sounds like the kind of simplified plan I would make.
Why does Claire not see the creepy sex offender as a warning sign?
I love how Gretchen looks horrified when she hears how Claire knows Doyle.
Can Peter turn off Rene's abilities when he wants? Nathan seems to have used Sylar's healing ability.
I can't stop giggling as Samuel talks to the angry customer. His voice and mannerisms change during this conversation and all that goes through my head is "I am but a humble and honest carnie sir."
"You can't hurt us." Damnit, Claire. *face in hands*
Petrellis on a roof. Nothing new here.
I love this scene. Sylars mannerism keep slipping through while Nathan is in charge of the body and its just such an emotional scene.
"Take care of Claire." Nathan you have two other children.
I want to know how much of this final conversation is actually Nathan and how much is Sylar slipping through.
I think the only thing Sylar has in the fight is greater reach and height/weight advantage. Peter is definitely the better fighter. But why does he need to hold Sylar's neck all the time? It's so yummy looking.
Peter is def having some kind of breakdown. God, the denial and single mindedness is nuts. And yet he looks so in control and having way too much fun with that nailgun. I mean, he's torturing the body he want to bring Nathan back to!
Do not get me started on Doyle and Claire hugging him! Does she not realise this guy most likely sexually abused her mother? I'm starting to think there is some kind of mind film over the whole carvinal, hiding how creepy all these guys are to the unsuspecting female population. Funny that Gretch sees through it so well.
I was so thinking about Simon and Monty too! They've gone the way of Lyle.
I always got the impression that some of this was Sylar the whole time, giving Peter closure so he could get away from the very psycho grief stricken brother. Like how he waves bye bye to him.
And Micah...And Molly...Jeremy's dead (poor sweetheart)...and Luke...Did I miss anymore kids? West is...somewhere (NYU if you follow canon). Zach is God-knows-where...Okay, Kring just hates kids and parents, it's official.
And I used to think that, too, about Sylar's motives for showing up at Mercy. However it never quite clicked for me (it was my assumption). I had to rewatch it for some quote for MBU and noticed a LOT of things different when I was looking for Nathan-specific things (again, I don't have a great Peter or Nathan muse, but I can tell when something's OOC for them). Sylar does a lot of pausing, looking around/away and a WHOLE lot of Sylar-playing-Nathan indicators that are, apparently, suddenly clear as day to me and I enjoy reading body language. I have since adopted GB's theory as that fits better for me (at least as far as MBU/my Sylar goes).
I'm with DD3 that SyHammer definitely delivered the 'Imma checking you out' look.
I can't stop wondering what Sylar is doing at the hospital. Did he go to look for Peter because he assumed that Peter would be up to something now? Did he follow Angela?
Ooo! Good point! See, I'd assumed he'd gone to the hospital because that's where Peter worked and thus it was easy to find him. Though I'd also wondered why he didn't just wait at Pete's apartment, where he's likely to be alone, but whatever. Yet the idea that Sy followed Angela is yummy.

Yeah, to me, Peter is having a total breakdown here. He's really off the deep end and showing his grief by being fairly out of character for himself.
Why does Claire not see the creepy sex offender as a warning sign?
I love how Gretchen looks horrified when she hears how Claire knows Doyle.
Yeah. I can definitely see how Claire might forgive Sylar if she was willing to give Doyle another chance. Also, I think by having helped Doyle, Claire feels she has a stake in him and therefor must, at least somewhat, be on his side now.
Can Peter turn off Rene's abilities when he wants? Nathan seems to have used Sylar's healing ability.
Let's assume he can. More confusing is why/how Sythan changed shape from Sylar to Nathan at a point in time when Peter would have been very specifically continuing to block his powers.
I want to know how much of this final conversation is actually Nathan and how much is Sylar slipping through.
IMO, it's Sylar-as-Nathan (for whatever reason, I do happen to like your fanon for it - I need to have you explain the roof top scene to me from your fanon again, though :)
I told DD, I always followed the 'Sylar came to give Peter a goodbye from Nathan, then Nathan took over and struggled with Sylar at the end'. Now I think it was Sylar looking for help (I wondered in MBU why Sylar didn't go to Peter/Angela for help...although he sort of did as SyNathan), seeing Peter gearing up, getting pissed and from there its a downward spiral.
For the Limbo entry, that I did from Nathan's POV, I think I rewatched Fifth Stage and saw a whole new episode. I hadn't been looking at it from 'what would Nathan do?' perspective(s). Once I did that, Sylar was very apparent in his mannerisms, doing a fantastic, near perfect impression of Nathan. One big indicator? His speech pattern is Sylar's on the rooftop. Nathan is pretty fast and smooth when he talks, very practiced. Sylar is halting, figuring things out as he goes, looking away/around, smiling an awful lot at Peter, buying time, walking ahead or behind Peter, staring at Peter a lot...None of those strike me as Nathan things.

Ah! I like your explanation! The Nathan-form of Sylar having trouble keeping his thoughts and memories straight, having trouble accessing the right memory bank. That makes sense!
